Some personality's take a while to get used to, often the comments are "top of mind". Often these are the most valuable if you have a thick skin which is needed for forum participation.

you or floyd didn't add anything to his thread, you only yelled at me for voicing my opinions. and its frankly none of your or his business. this is nothing but a troll post and should be closed and or banned.

True enough Edward...top of the mind comments, however, normally dissipate a little prior to and during typing, especially on such a moderate thread!

Lara being here a short period of time has nothing to do with being able to recognize rude and disrespectful behavior. Something you excel at Mike.

Don't be such a grumpy guts Mike...I didn't list a favourite because I didn't really have one...have spent the day reading and being interested in photography, which is why I checked the post in the first place...trying to gauge what Edward was talking about in the Good/bad photography thread...and I am not a troll...they live under bridges, don't they?

Some people believe in honesty above social decorum. Personally I did my time time telling everyone they were wonderful and I hated myself in the morning. I see this as a place to learn and grow as an artist and business person. I'd rather gleam honesty and real advice from who I can and let the often rough delivery roll off.

Oh, and I've been a member since March 2011...

Edward, I have dealt with Mikes all o my life. And no, I will never get used to it nor do I want to.

He is rude and obnoxious and I am not going just write that off as, oh, that is just Mike.

He has a lot of people here that think he is some sort of god. Well I am not one of them and he just can no handle that.

floyd - i have yet to call you names, yet you feel like its ok for you to do this yourself? rude is as rude does. no i don't have a favorite and knowing that is as useful as knowing which ones people like. i don't claim i'm a god, because i'm an atheist and proud of it. there is no god. and presently i'm simply a turkey. but i don't see were you get off telling me off considering all you do is lecture people and pose that U MIGHT NOT BE SELLING thing.

trolls start threads about people just to cause trouble. it doesn't matter how long you've been here, i don't think i remember seeing your name in the forums until a week ago or so. we have rules and name and shame is one of them. calling someone out like this is against the rules. you should read them.

Well, learn a few rules yourself then Mike...social rules. There was no need to respond to the post in the first place, as Floyd said, if you can't say anything nice, say nothing...and don't come back with 'honesty is the best policy', because that's the wrong answer...and throwing your toys out of the pram when your comments are highlighted and demanding banning because you have been named and shamed...really?

Go look at the stats Mike. 190 people opened the thread, 17 posted, only you made negative comments.

The rest of the people either chose not to even look at the art, or had the good sense to just not say anything.

That is just common courtesy and respect. No one said you had to stroke his ego. But you did not have to go out of you way to be rude either. But you do that all the time.

You are an internet bully as far as I am concerned.

I have dozens of emails thanking me for have the guts to stand up to you. It is not guts. It is just good upbringing to stand up for people when they are being bullied.

sorry but no. i said nothing that bad. i don't like them. neither did you. and instead of following your own rules of not saying anything nice, not only did you reply and question me in the thread, you created an entirely new thread about the topic. same with you floyd, you tell me i'm rude - what are you doing?

EDIT because its closed as i got in at the nick of time, be aware there is no real thing as rude. honest people are marked as rude for some reason and that thinking should stop. just because people surround themselves with yes men and people that compliment anything and everything - doesn't mean the person that just speaks the truth is a rude person. rude is as rude does. i help a lot of people, but there are so many like a few on there that only focus on the negative. if i was a bad person i wouldn't be contacted by someone nearly every day because they want an honest look at their gallery. because i don't hold back, but i wouldn't make them cry either.

and yes i do make fun of the hate mail - i don't get much and i find it amusing. the thought that people would spend energy and time to make such a thing in the first place. and even a while ago someone that had so much malice against me actually asked for help the following year.
