High Resolution Public Domain Image

We are trying to find vintage artwork or photography that we can produce a 3D lenticular posters from. We will not be selling the posters, but showing prospective clients our print technology. Wondering if someone in the FAA community can point me in the right direction. We'd be happy to provide you with finished 3D lenticular printed posters for your help.

Even if you are not selling the images, no reason not to license from a living artist.

Perhaps, you could use the FAA's commercial licensing site which is, for example, for our art

or check out here for other artists who would agree to license you an image for your purposes:

Also, some artists here may want to deal with you directly if you contact them about any particular image you want.

Google - public domain images. Library of Congress is one source.
Not sure if you want vintage as in taken or painted ages ago, or vintage as in style.

We're looking for an iconic image... The V J Day famous kiss... Something to that degree. We are not opposed to licensing if needed. I've been wading through the Library of Congress website for a couple days without luck.

On this forum you are talking to artists who sell or license their own artwork only, including vintage as a style.

If you need this particular iconic image, just google it to see if it is available from anyone for licensing it legally or if it is in public domain and you can use it for free.

It seems tacky to ask artists and photographers here who sell and license their work to help you find something for free to use. There's Google for that.

the Eisenstaedt photograph, is protected by copyright. That's the original image everyone knows. There was another one taken by a navy photo journalist which is in the public domain. That one is by Victor Jorgensen.

This is the pubic domain image.

Not hard to find at all actually.

Many NASA and other federal-government-produced images are in the public domain. Our tax dollars at work. :)

What about the Golden Spike ceremony? An interesting, well known iconic image, and certainly in the public domain. Any of the known photos of Lincoln would be the same.

You'd have a lot less potential legal trouble licensing an image from a living artist.

often i see so many public domain stuff being taken by places like getty, you just don't know what's free and what isn't these days. and i think if your going to go through the trouble of making a lenticular poster, that buyers would want something they haven't seen yet.

Ron,
I hope you are checking out Heather's link. One of her Gathering Dust series would be an iconic image for old to new technology, IMHO.

Are you kidding! You came here, opened a free account, to ask a bunch of hard working artists where to get free art?

Abbie Shores

I have to agree with Val.

Please go to http://licensing.pixels.com where we have a lot of great work for a proper price. I am sure you are paid for your everyday job and do not work for free.

Thank you.
