I Wonder?

Think I am at least going to lesson my time on the discussion page. I seem to devote entirely to much time and energy to it. Love the communication with the various artist but I have a rather obsessive personality and need to concentrate my efforts elsewhere. Anyone else ever face this dilemma?

Ron,

I have had huge weeks, about five in a row, work wise.

I have also been living and breathing my latest series.

I half shutdown for the last week. I needed some time.

I am back in form.

I asked around with a few artists I know offline, they too have down time.

I am now learning the techniques I need in PS for new work. I am beginning to
put in the multi hour stretches of work again.

I have shutdown my marketing for a few days to a week till I have this first
new piece of work done.

As I do the second similar work my speeds will pick up and I will go back to
heavily marketing my work.

Dont take your self too seriously just because you go back and forth to different
aspects of the work.

Artists form communities. We need that. Just decide will seven days off be good,
or do you need five or thirty days off? What you will find is a burden is lifted as you
go day by day without your work. You can stay with a few aspects of the work
in the meantime. When you are ready you will be back feeling better than ever.

I discovered for my self that after six days away from my PS project, when I took up
my project again I loved the work all the more.

I think we all wonder if we're doing enough art if we've had too much social time online. I really enjoy my down time on FAA though.

Ha Ronald! I obsess about getting paid for painting, I get a commission for 3 works then a thousand things draw me away from actually doing my art. Yep, I wonder.

Hi Ronald,

Funny you posted this...it is something I have been thinking about all week. I have been stuck in social media for a while now and doing very little of anything new. It seems, for me anyway, I need to find balance between the two. Before I started using social media as a way to promote my work...I did a lot of new work....but no one saw it. Now that I started with the social media I am beginning to get a lot more views but doing very little new stuff. I have a ton of work started, but don't finish much. I think without a constant stream of new work social media will not matter. When your followers don't see new work they will stop visiting. It's a conundrum.

I haven't even begun to think about doing my new improved AW changes yet...and I just remembered I haven't done anything on my personal website in at least two weeks. All I really want to do is the art and some days I think I will just unplug the computer all together and go back to living in the real world....I find as much satisfaction slopping around with papier mache or flinging paint all over.

Lol yet here I am typing away! Yup...I get what you are saying :)

There's nothing to wonder about, Ron...social media is addicting.
Anyone who thinks that chatting in a discussion is working at their art, is also procrastinating.
Being at the computer working is quite another matter.

I've suggested AA for FAA in past years....seems like there will always be those who need it.

Tamara, lol!

I think David has balanced insight. It seems I concentrate on one thing and not go back and forth much.

I know what you mean Ronald. You are a smart guy and have interesting threads and comments, so it's hard for people to stay away from you! You're not helping me! lol

Yee Ha! Ronald, you get it! Spend your time in the real world. Helluv a lot betta then wasting your time debating how many angels dance on the head of a pin, or what is art. .......
