Dear clever people. Can you help me with a title for this one?

One Skate at a Time --
Just a thought !

Skating on thin ice....

That's a better one, Karen!

That's a possibility.

The only thing that comes to my mind are the lyrics to a Jethro Tull song... "skating away, on the thin ice of a new day."

Too long.

Blades of steel.

I like both of those suggestions ("Skating on Thin Ice" or "One Skate at a Time").

Here's another one: "Easy Does It."

She appears to be a beginner based on how she's placed her blades. We all know how hard that is at first.

Speaking of song lyrics I could go with Paul Simon', "Slip Sliding Away''.

Oh, that's a good one, Patricia

Oh Brian! We may have a winner. Gotta go with the one that makes me laugh out loud!

Thank you!

Thanks everyone! I really struggle with titles. They were all great but I'm loving Brian's suggestion! Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!

I changed the title but it will take a while for it to update. Click on the image to see the new one.

Cheers,
K.

In terms of classifying the image and making it easy to target in a search, I think ... Ice Skater ... is the more practical choice.

Regrettably, I do not fulfill your request, since this name is not clever - it IS, perhaps, smart, however.

When people want to buy something, they want a clear way to identify it. If somebody wanted an image of an ice skater, then clever might not get them to yours, if it had the clever title.

I see lots of billboards with words attempting to be clever, but they end up being obscure in the three seconds that people have to assimilate and understand them.

Oh I love Ice Ice Baby !!

If you Google .... Ice Ice Baby ..., then you will get images of Vanilla Ice returned. Is this what you want?

I thought the keywords were what the google search would pick up. Am I wrong about this?

I always struggle with choosing between the title that is better for search verses the more memorable choice.

I've tried both ways and guess what? Even when I go with the simpliest, most straight forward title, my art NEVER comes up on Google search.

In this case I'm going to go with the title that will appeal to my target demographic. This piece, painted in a minalmist style, will appeal (I hope) to a younger, perhaps 'hipper' collector. This title will resonate with that individual. At the same time, I think there is little risk of offending anyone outside that demo.

I can always change it latter.

Thanks for your concern, Robert.

... key words, yes, these would seem to be important. But if the title ITSELF contains a keyword or IS a keyword, then seemingly it would be even stronger.

Include YOUR NAME with your simple title when you search, if you personally want to get to YOUR images. The most basic term will rarely if ever get you to YOUR images, since there are thousands and thousands of images with this basic term. Somebody would have to be searching for YOU associated with YOUR IMAGE to get YOUR images or just be searching for YOUR NAME, and this would get to YOUR IMAGES.

My name always gets me to my images.

If you want people to find YOUR images, then the simplest most straightforward KEYWORD you can include with your images is YOUR NAME, and call the artwork whatever you want.

Greetings Karlyn, when I viewed your painting of a skater.....it is what it is.....I would not worry about a clever title, personally I would want this wonderful painting to appear in google or bing photos of skaters. A potential ice skater would see it there associated with ice skating and perhaps purchase it. Keep it simple but title it "The Ice Skater" your image stands a better chance being among the photos of popular 'Ice Skaters".....IMO.

I also, always include the city first where the photo was painted or photograph taken and then my name example Michael Hoard photos, Michael Hoard photograph, Michael Hoard photography, and then all the other associated keywords as possible, it will appear among google and bing and other searches.....
