I got an email from a visitor to my AW that makes it sound like we've already been communicating (she mentions being late in getting back to me). I'm 99% sure we haven't communicated before.
I don't really want to answer with my personal email address but is there any other way to handle it?
I wasn't going to respond since she didn't ask any questions or say anything I necessarily need to respond to but it got me thinking...What if it were a customer asking about purchasing but it sounded a little suspicious? Do people answer with their private email address?
One tell tale sign of a scammer is when they make it sound like you two have talked before when, as you put it, you're 99% sure you haven't. I'd trash the e-mail and ignore it.
No, I don't, JC...I guess I should get one for the future though.
Joseph, I agree...it just didn't ring true to me. I'm a pretty naive person but I think I'm learning, the past few years especially, after having some harsh experiences.
if you don't know the name, and you don't remember the conversation, you can just ask them what they want. many scams start with a RE: the thing we were talking about. so it's probably a scam. though it depends what they wanted.
whatever it was they talked to you about, run that line through google and see if it comes up any place.
