Greetings From Beijing, China

Hello everyone, greeting from Beijing China! I am taking a three weeks holiday and visiting my friend in Beijing China. Last time I came here was there years ago to visit my friend Michael.. Recently, Michael moved back to Beijing with a new job after two years in Qingdao.
As soon as I arrived in Beijing, the first thing I noticed was how dark it was. Although it was mid afternoon but the pollution which covered the sky in gray and I won’t see sun for the next two days. Many are wearing face mask when out and about.
However, Sunday morning blue sky and bright sun returned but there was the only day like that since I been here.
Living in Beijing is nothing like other cities I had been to. Everyday, I witness sights I haven’t seen and likely won’t forget
The only web sites I able to asset to are Yahoo mail, wordpress and fine art America!.
Here is a shot of a pop up outdoor store at Wangfujing a well known shopping area in Beijing.

It's all those clothing/textile mills making our clothing and acid rain! I really don't know but have a good time Alfred! Thank you for the "show and tell," great pic!

Roy, I could be in major trouble if I overstay, getting a visa was a big task. Today, I visited the art museum, although entry was free but I had to present my passport has it scanned in return for a ticket!

Enjoy your holiday, Alfred! Interesting picture...are there a lot of pop up stores? I don't think I could deal with the pollution...even going to Vancouver bothers me sometimes. I hope you remembered to take lots of loonies for your return trip!

We have been to China and Beijing 26 years ago ... it was a great and very interesting trip. Nobody used a face mask at that time, only few cars have been on the streets but a lot of bicycles. A wonderful holiday for you, Alfred.

I was in Beijing a few years ago and I had to use my inhaler every day because of the pollution although we were lucky as it did clear up and we did have a few sunny days - I liked Shanghai and Xian better

Enjoy your trip, Alfred. I've been in Bangkok, and the traffic cops there wear face masks. It smelled like exhaust, but the pollution wasn't visibly apparent.

Share more photos when you have them!

yesterday, I went to visit the China Art Museum which is not far from where I am staying, not knowing what the current exhibitions are and was surprised to find an exhibit by Mexican master Diego Rivera on displays. However I was more impress with the exhibitions by other Chinese Artists.
