Standard License Prices

I would love some advice on setting standard licencing prices for my work. I know the prices can vary dramatically depending on size and volume and what the image is used for.
I just want to set a standard set of prices in the admin section of my pages. Its quite daunting process and I am very new to this.

Lesley,

There are really no "standard" pricing for stock stuff, every opportunity seems to be different. You can buy "FotoQuote" and that program covers most situations. The "real" stock houses have people answering the phones and handling the questions and that knowledge, makes the difference,

I just used the Getty defaults. I had my first license sale two weeks ago - and was well satisfied with the commission.

Lesley -- what Bill says. I've made a living on RM images since 1992 and the Getty pricing is the easy way without explaining it all. You might want to check your library for a book - Sell and Resell your Photos -- by Rohn Engh. Also, search online for Dan Heller who has an extensive website on the photography business, though it may be dated material his opinions seem timeless. Hope this is helpful to you.

EDIT: Dan Heller's website is, of course, -- http://www.danheller.com/

also check out Artists Market ... it is a great publication for learning the guidelines of photobuyers and more. Find it at your library otherwise last I checked it costs a ton.
