Is there a way to completely eliminate the headshot, or to replace it with a video or slideshow? A new tab for "About the Artist" could be an alternate to including the headshot and bio on the front page.

Lynn follow Marks tip. Make a clear 1 pixel PNG and no border upload and poof all gone.

My old bio persists in the new AW, even though I revised it on both my FAA site and the AW site. I've gone in and done it several times. It does show up correctly under "edit," but on my actual AW homepage, it still shows the old bio. I even switched to Chrome (browser)!

Have you cleaned your cache? or refreshed the page a few times? .........this is a problem, not a how to ;)

Patricia Strand

Yes, I refresh all the time (old habit). Under Internet Options, it doesn't give the option to clear a cache. If you mean History, yes it's emptied.

Oh, sorry, I see I am in the wrong thread. I'll go over to the right one.

Abbie,
Is there a "new features" list? I've been overwhelmed here lately but I think that the content now between the FAA and AW sites can be different, but haven't had time to investigate how or what the implications are of these changes.

So with limited time I'm hoping there is a list somewhere of the differences so we don't just have to 'discover' them and understand them on our own.

While changing settings I inadvertently erased the line: "Every purchase includes a money back guarantee!"

I can retype the words into the custom line but the link has been lost. Can anyone tell me what is the code to include the link with the text?

Andee Design

You are welcome Lynn.

I erased mine from that so I do not have what it was. But if you go to Abbie's site you can recreate that link..or should be able to . Follow this link to her site and it is easy to make a new one. http://1stangel.co.uk/make-html-links/

May have to ask support via the contact us link to restore that as you have to be able to get the page for your AW to make a link for it.

Thanks Andee, I think I'll give Abbie a break for now. She's probably inundated with requests for help with the new AW site features.

I can never figure out when these posts will embed the link.

The problem with the artistwebsite not opening to the tab set as default seems to have been fixed now. Thanks Abbie and Sean! :)

@ Lynn - the original code for the money-back guarantee is:

Every purchase includes a < a href='/moneybackguaranteeartistwebsites.html' >money-back guarantee< /a >.

(You'll have to remove the spaces from the < and > symbols)

A tip for people, if you feel your Gallery thumbnails are a bit 'blurry', Sean posted this in the main thread, and I was just lucky to see it.

Thats the ones on the Gallery page, the default image for each gallery, not each of the individual images within the gallery.

So for me: http://firefluxstudios.artistwebsites.com/index.html?tab=galleries

The old size for them was 120x120, but Sean increased that to 360x360, but for some reason he hasn't resized them for everyone, you have to do that manually (bit strange...). The display size is 170x170, so the 120 old size gets pixel-ated a bit if you dont do this.

If you do this, then it should make it look a bit better:

1) Go to your Gallery page/tab.
2) Hover over each image and click the small 'edit pencil' box that shows up
3) In the popup, click the 'edit' button.
4) Click the 'Use As Logo' button next to the image you want to use (even if you use the same image, click that images button)
5) Click the 'Submit' button at the top right.

Do this for each Gallery.

This helped with the clarity/quality of all my thumbnails quite a bit.

HTHs.

Rob.

This is a look at others does and to ask 'how did they do that?'

Hints and tips is the other thread

No, I'm not moaning, very grateful to people joining in, just wanted a list of hints and tips in the other thread, a look at set things here with how did they do it, and the other thread for problems people are having with their site.... Like login issues etc

Do you think I should just have left it to the hints and tips thread? Does this one make sense?

Hi, Abbie,

I think if someone asks 'How did they do that?', someone else will respond with hints and tips. Sounds like the exact same thing to me.

I think you might have one thread too many, doubling the places where we'll have to search to find an answer. JMHO! ;-)

David Bridburg - I really like how you did your header. Will you tell me how you did it - specifically the size of the image as well as the smaller and lower search box. My search box is huge, going across the entire top, which I don't like, and I can't figure out how to make it smaller. http://david-bridburg.artistwebsites.com/index.html?tab=images

Thanks for your help.

Sorry, didnt see the other thread.

Problem is, this forum needs more 'organisation', and I dont mean manual organisation, I mean like most forums on the net, sub forums, last read, categories, pinning, fav lists, new post lists, etc.

I use many many forums on the net, and this one is by far the hardest one for me to navigate, find posts and see things easily, unfortunately.

Rob.

Abbie,

okay, I'm in the wrong discussion.

Fran Riley

Yes, I am also wondering how to get the header as a background image like David did and Mark Tisdale.

Ok I will close this one and we will keep it all in the other one :)

Do you have hints and tips?
