Looking For A Lighthouse Picture

I am very new to this site. I love paintings and love shopping for them. However, I have a question that might seem to be very silly or maybe shouldn't even be submitted. I have a very old Lighthouse portrait(probably 60 years old). It has been in our family for years. The artist's signature is so dim that I can't tell who painted this print. I have another family member wanting this painting and I'm willing to share but I'd like to know if anyone can paint this picture for me if I submit a picture of it. If anyone has an answer for me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

That's a windmill...
I recommend doing a search on here for artists that paint in a similar style. (Think Dutch masters) Then just contact them and see if they do commissions.

Thank you for your advice.

I'd second that advice.

Also, if you take a closer up photo you can do a reverse image search on google - odds are there are other prints out there. I tried cropping the one you put up and searching, but might be easier to find with a bigger image.

Looks an awful lot like this place. The Windmill at Wijk bij Duurstede...might want to start there?

you can scan it in and upload it here so we can see it more in detail. you can also scan in the signature and emboss it so you can see it more clearly maybe. that boat looks like a chinese junk but it's hard to tell from the shot.

I believe Melissa has found it.

Hi,

I reckon its this one, by William M. Thompson.

It seems to be used on a few items around the net, but this seems like the original:

And here you are. I processed this to make a nice print.

Actually, now I looked at it again and checking dates, it looks like 'William M. Thompson' probably used the 'The Windmill at Wijk' painting and painted his version of it... which is the version you have.

I agree with FireFlux Studios

And yet from the sky, I'd say your painting is a copy of the Thompson copy not the original.

And there's a lady here Marlene who does commissions.
