Phone Cases For Xmas

just saw a Speck iphone case - see link and it isn't cheap at $45

we all need to advertise ours as Christmas is rolling in faster than the fog along the west coast

http://www.speckproducts.com/iphone-case/iphone-6-plus-cases/candyshell-inked-cases-for-iphone-6-plus.html

and comparing it to the prices for the case here they might seem like a good deal!

I was thinking of not offering them anymore. I hate to find an image of mine in a search with a phone case. Often times, they are shown oriented wrong, too!

I think if people want to get something different they are a terrific item to offer, specially as a gift

also for yourself as your own big version of a business card

not everything works for it but then again, people won't order/buy it if the dimensions are wrong

Hi Nina, I just put together a whole page of them and thought it a good idea. They do make good gifts. And why not?

@Jim the orientation thing is what bothers me too. They look so ridiculous when that happens. I went though and deleted all the cases that didn't fit on the default view. It would be nice to be able to choose the orientation a zoom and be able to set and lock it....actually same with cards.

Hi, Nina,

Your vintage-y Hollywood case is very cool!

I mentioned holidays and phone cases just this morning; I'm adding more of them to my standalone website, so i can control the way they're seen. The 'phone case' page is one of the most viewed on my site -- each case is directly linked back to FAA for easy shopping. :-)

I've seen one with my work printed on; it was bright, colorful, and gorgeous! Fingers crossed for some holiday sales!

I like all your colors Val Arie

and Wendy your ones look fab too

this way it is much more personal and it is easy to find the phone too

Thanks, Nina. I've only sold one so far, and that's exactly what the buyer said. "Now, I'll never pick up the wrong phone after a meeting!"

To be sure of that, she bought this one -

I love the idea of that crazy, colorful, abstract on a boardroom table, amidst all the 'sensible' phones! :-)

oh I like that Wendy

thanks for sharing

that will brighten up any room

she should make her screen saver the same as the cover

That's a clever idea, Nina! I shall steal it . . . immediately. Thank you! :-)

If you are on Pinterest and want to promote your phone cases there: Georgia Fowler created a Group Board, here ist her Thread:

Yeah, great gifts for those that want art but have no room for art. Mine retail for 50 but frankly there are a LOT of phone cases that sell for much more than that.

in the past week or two i've sold 3 or 4. while they might look silly sometimes and you can't adjust them - i charge $57 - and get that. i don't know how many i would sell if i charged less, my guess not much more than that. but they are buying the image more than anything else. if i didn't sell it - i wouldn't get that extra money. i get a little more than a small print.

Thanks, Val! :-) At about 2 a.m., I noticed I'd used the wrong link in your other thread; it's fixed now.

Because of this thread, I finally remembered to go and add the iPhone 6 info to my page. Yikes -- can't believe I hadn't done that!

JC, have you sold many FAA cases? How are they moving, in general?

Offering phone cases is kind of like licensing artwork to yourself. Its a nice way to bring in some extra cash from a market that might not be ready for wall art. Young people live a mobile life, their phone is there way of showing off their personality and their art appreciation even if they are still living in a dorm with posters tacked on the wall.

I haven't sold a lot of them but when I do I'm always pleasantly surprise by the creative cropping of my images.

Not a lot but around one or two a month which is 40 bucks per that I wouldn't have otherwise.

I am going to Match Savad's prices, as I often do.....

Want to here something funny? When Mike was a newb on here I had to suggest that he raise his prices. Now THAT'S funny.

i know i matched jc prices and went up, so now we battle...

the cases started selling better when the spamming from the site stopped. i would sell one every month or so. but within the last 2 months, i've noticed them popping up more often. i still sell more on zaz, but its been there longer, and i can adjust the case if i want, not that i really do. when i make things i try to center the main subject in the center so they look right on everything with little work later. the price is the same on zaz, so the money is about the same (it's where i got the price from to start with). i'm not sure what the cut off limit is, of when they think its too much money, i'm thinking this is the amount. you can get cases for very little money, but people like to customize to whatever they do.

the only other case that I have seen that is great is one that is see thru on the back, so I would then customize it with a different print (art/photo) whenever I felt like it

kind of like Mike Savad makes his avatar according to season or occasion :)
