thing is, when you shot it, what compelled you to do it?
for me - i see a dull, lifeless image that's rather crooked. heavy weighted on the right. its a clump of trees that can be anywhere they grow. i see the tops of people making this a snap shot instantly, and a few in the ocean. at the very least, they should be cloned out. scenes like this will only work if there is something else in there, and the trees serve as a frame. such as a sunset/rise. a boat, interesting clouds etc. check your focus, both images you posted thus far are not that sharp
when you shoot a picture always be aware of a few things:
1. is there any clutter - poles, cans, things that don't belong like those tiki torches in the center. people, debris?
2. is there a story of some kind. can my viewers figure out why i shot this. you have to break away the memories of the location and how good a time you had with the image you took because its not being at all conveyed.
3. once you have the image - a sunrise with some dock or something like a mountain that can only be found there, then you have to straighten it, and remove clutter you couldn't remove by shooting it in the right place.
i can't say what you should do differently because i would have had a totally different shot. it doesn't catch the attention that well no.
