Not Getting Email Notifications

Started with our last payment email as well as my last 2 print sales. I have made no changes to settings and the email's are not in spam folder. Any ideas what to do? I don't see a current thread about others having this problem.

that thing breaks down all the time. i have missed 100's of replies and dozens of sales notices over the last few months. i just kind of give up. then one day all of them flood the box.

Best to not rely on it at all. Just check your sales from the control panel behind the scenes. The nice thing is that you get paid automatically so you don't have to reach a minimum or send an invoice. If you check as little as once a month you will know what is going on.

One thing I expect is that as the site gets really busy for the season, minor things don't work. It's best not to make a big deal as I would hate to see the staff responding to artist's complaints about minor glitches when the focus should be on customer service to the buyers, not the sellers, and making sure the vital sales functions are smooth. Last year there were a number of near heart attacks by those that failed to get the email and didn't get a same day response from support. Another nearly collapsed after the 'make the discussion private" vote function did not work . While others nearly suffered strokes from a slow upload. Stay calm and remember all when sites tend to run less efficiently when the volume is high so just think of it as a good thing.
The best thing to do now is check your sales from the site. It always works.

Also see this thread. There is usually one a month about this.

It does NOT break down, they leave here automatically as they should. They can take an hour or two to go out as they are queued but never days.

However, your provider may block them their end as we get blocked weekly by many companies. Aol and Comcast are the most likely culprits but recently we had yahoo, hotmail and others.

We get them unblocked again when we find out and that is when your provider may release the emails.

We are sending as normal.

Peter, i will take a look at your email provider soon and make sure we are not blocked by them again.

Newsletters go from a different address so you may see them as normal

Every time I see this question asked I go running to my sales sheet and hope that I didn't get an email or ten from the night before.

So far, no luck.

something on the site breaks down then. because they don't ever get to me they instead collect in a pool here. there would be no other reason why i can get some of them and not all of them. i would get a flood of them every now and then, hundreds of back messages. i doubt comcast holds onto them and does that. they may be being sent, but i'm not getting all of them. why would comcast be so selective about sending things or blocking things. that's the part that doesn't make sense. i check on comcasts settings every now and then. and i do turn off the filters on that side, checking my boxes, all blank, i seem to get all the mail normally.

for sales, my bookmark is the sales sheet, so i check that constantly. sometimes that method surprises me because the picture changes to something else. so i run to my box to see... nothing. just another warning from fedex telling me my package didn't arrive. or the paypal thing that starts with hello dear. then other times, there is that order thing. it was much more constant in being sent when i first started here.

usually this issue pops up more often when the uploader starts to fail. or the indexer doesn't work.

Thanks for looking into it Isabella as no emails are getting through to me. JC it was a nice surprise to see the sales there..but I much more enjoy the "cha-ching" thrill of the email notification :)

A simple fix would be to use the internal system, ever since I changed my weekly update to Wednesday I no loner receive them. I still get my other notices though.

I also didn't receive any email notification of sales the past 2 days! I reported it and they always come back with "check your spam"

Mike please read what I said. It is not breaking down here. They are going out as normal but the email provider is blocking them. That is their end. It is not a breakdown.

i'm not arguing, i'm sure the system says its being sent, but i'm not getting them, they aren't being blocked or it would be diverted to another box. and i do check. and i get some - if it was being blocked i wouldn't get any. that's why it's confusing. and i just checked again and i don't have anything in there. it wouldn't explain why sometimes i get a rush of mail from weeks ago. i just got a pile like that a while ago. 600 new messages, and all were dated from a while ago on closed threads. i would wonder why comcast would hold that.

now aol on the other hand just erases mail outright and you never get it at all. and we know about that because we send things to an aunt and she never gets it.

i'm still thinking that the system says its sending it, but it's being held in the outbox and is stuck some place along the line. other times i get them at a normal pace.

I'll add a little kindling to the fire: I haven't received my last two as well. I use AOL.

Mystery solved..sort of. For some as of yet unknown reason my main email account at Time Warner was suspended with no notice to me. This main addy is linked to my secondary email account with gmail. So anyone (not just FAA) trying to email me through the TW account only, is not getting through. Normally, I get email notices in both TW and gmail but obviously that can't happen again until this is sorted out. Now I have to chase their customer service people down to find out why the suspension...what fun!

Soooo..Time Warner took it upon themselves to deactivate my email..."as we saw you haven't logged into it in a long time". How messed up is that?!! Idiots!
