Not lupines, maybe some kind of celosia?
Alfred Ng
it is an Astilbe.
Heather Applegate
Not any astilbe I've ever seen... wrong leaves and the spikes are individual. Its a variety of celosia.

Trever, I've got something like that in my garden and it's atype of Celosia: http://www.altiusdirectory.com/Shopping/flower-facts/Celosia-flowers-15 Mine is very invasive and grows wherever a seed ends up. so more of a weed than a plant now! Rich
Oops! Here's mine: Rich
Thank you, these do indeed seem to be celosia. I'm not a botanical guy, so I need a little help now and then to figure out what the heck something is. http://www.gardenworldimages.com/Details.aspx?ID=31264&TypeID=1
