Google And Facebook Question

I've been out of commission for awhile and just today decided for the first time in a long time to check how I'm doing in google rankings.
Well....unlike last time I checked which was over a year ago, only some of my blog, website and FAA pages show up but NO art at all, and NO Facebook pages AT ALL when I google just my name... (versus natalie singer art or painting or drawing searches where my art does show up) there isn't one picture of my art anymore.

Facebook used to be on there all over the place when I googled myself.

So I was wondering does anybody know why this is happening? You all usually know what's up with these things so I thought I'd ask you. Can't find anything on google about a possible issue between Facebook and Google

Thank you

if your not current news, your filed in the back. google uses different ways to find you. one of those is content, and the other is how social you are. if you leave too long you will be lost. only way to get back on is to post, advertise etc again.

You have to stay active in order to stay high in the rankings.

Google algorithms are based on current hits and search cues.

For myself, I keep a photo log and multiple points of interest. I post on my blog, facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and FAA at set times per week and month. If I post on a webpage or a newspaper, then I link my comment to my webpage or new photo.

If you are going to remain dormant on the internet, then you cannot expect Google or any other search engine to maintain your web presence for you.

Good luck and glad you are back.

Okay..so I was not on here, FAA, for a long time but I was on Facebook the entire time...adding pictures and posts consistently....I already know well how rankings etc. work......my question was specifically about Facebook and Google. It's asking if anyone else has noticed their facebook pages no longer being listed in google. None of mine are. I'm not asking about how rankings work.

Hi Viv....thank you for the welcome back....hope all is well with you. Your avatar is fabulous!

i don't think google cares as much about facebook. i think it looks for things that aren't private like twitter. facebook has too many obstacles. things are private some things don't post at all. if i was google i would skip over much of it, because many of the things posted there are either taken from other places or have no real content.

we don't know how google works, and it changes its mind every day. if you have other places you advertise on, that would be better. i don't think facebook is a good source to advertise in anyway. you want to do a couple if you can. and you won't show up for this site in google because you have few keywords, even selling just originals you get more than that.

i think google also has the - if you snooze you lose policy. if you set it up as a blog, it will show up much faster. even this conversation is probably in google right now.

Oh Mike Savad....I had forgotten how wonderfully helpful you can be. What you've posted makes great sense to me. And I think you've pretty much answered my question.

Thank you.
