Thank you, but this is the issue Ronald, I've had many views but no sales? Hard to believe that so many people looked at this and not one person purchased a photo, not even a card?

are you sure? I was just visiting that picture and folks were congratulating you on a sale. Might be on another picture though.

Those were private sales, nothing from here! I have this displayed in my home, two friends purchased prints.

I have images with thousands of views that haven't sold.

Especially if it gets Stumbled Upon attention.

Views don't equal sales.

The image you posted has a lot of artifacts in the up close view, that may be a turn off for buyers.

What are 'artifacts'?

Vinka,

I agree with Angelina. "Views don't equal sales." I, too, have had thousands of views on many of my images, even over 30,000 on a bluebird image that went viral on Stumble Upon several years ago... and that one and others have not sold.

Many of the views recorded here on FAA are from bots and other members of FAA, not necessarily buyers. Alot of competition these days, so you need alot of patience. And, you need to market your work elsewhere on the internet to bring buyers in.

Best of luck to you on your sales!

Bald eagles are common in many areas of North America. They are large and easy to shoot. You have a lot of competition. This is not even your best bald eagle photo. The whites are blown out on the neck. It's crawling with artifacts. The eye is dead center which weakens the composition. There are distracting branches. There are lots of photographers who pursue these birds. I am not surprised you didn't make a sale. With bird photos it is a lot easier to sell in person than on the internet, where the choices are endless. People like to look at some photos and not buy. One of my Roseate Spoonbill photos has 400 views and no sale.

you can have 10 views and get a sale or 10000 and get a sale, I have seen works with over 5000 views and no sale

agreed, I have many views and no sales so there's no magic number unfortunately.

Well its about getting a quality buyer that has a special reason and value for this picture. When you are talkin about sales your in the business world. Way different ball game. I agree though this picture doesn't quite fit the standards of a quality photo from the art perspective so your customer just wants a bird......well they can get that anywhere.

247 is not that much :))

My most popular image has1578 views.
I have 68 with more than 247.
59k views altogether.
And only 3 small sales.
I see people selling with less than 5kvisitors images with just a few views. So as it was said : "Views don't equal sales"

views don't mean sales. i can't say how popular eagles are, but i know there are a lot of them.

youtube videos, 300,000 views, 130 likes - that's how the sales here work too. many people look but they won't buy it. in a normal store, you might have a dozen people try on the pants before you buy it.

and some images are lookers, while others are sellers. some images are meant just to bring a viewer in.

artifacts are bits of noise that you have in this image. up close the detail really isn't there, it's noisy and may have issues printing. good bird shots usually have no blow outs and details in the feathers. this one has loss in the neck and a noisy background. i would change the description to talk more about the bird and less about how you printed your own image. you should have far more keywords than that. the views are probably all internal. mentioning america, usa, nature and the like would be better.

Hard to believe? No. Most of the views are probably bots and people looking for free images. Also consider the competition just on this site.

A search for bald eagle brings up this:

Displaying: 1 - 36 of 10000+ bald eagle art for sale
