Welcome To Our Family.

The rules? No rules; just an expectation that we all "do unto others." In other words, if you want others to promote your work, you should do the same for them. Those of us who take a full part in promoting ourselves and others try to do so for a 24 hour period or longer if possible. That includes opening the Big Skip and promoting the images in there too.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND HOW WE DO THINGS HERE:

Please use the URL for your image postings, rather than the copy and paste code. Posting the photo itself, rather than a link will make it difficult for people who don't have high speed internet, as well it might cause people to skip over your post without promoting.

Only 1 image is allowed per day, both in this discussion and in the group.

There is NO contest vote solicitation allowed on the discussion boards.

If you are posting nudes, or other questionable images, please post a warning notice with your link. There are children here, as well as adults who choose not to look at that type of image.
Please do not post links from your pixels.com account or any other FAA mirror site. It tends to create problems for some people and most will skip those links.

ABSOLUTELY NO images of nudity, death, cruelty or violence of any kind on the main board, where you have no ability to post a warning.

Finally, JUST HAVE FUN!! This is an incredible group of people who will make you feel welcome from your first post!!

TO ALL NEWCOMERS: I realize that some of you are so new to not only the group, but to FAA, that I thought perhaps a little clarification is in order. I'm sure you've noticed that while we can't require anyone to vote/like anyone elses work, we do tend to treat people the way people treat others. But I also realized that you may not have a clue what we're talking about, so........... to "like" someone's work, you click on their blue link, which opens up that particular piece. In the upper right corner, you'll see a few little icons. One is a thumbs up, which is what you press to "like/vote" for that piece of art. Most of us here press that whether we love the work or not. It's how we help each other to move up in the FAA search standings (even though FAA now says it doesn't count for very much, but that's now past history and it is what it is). That's all we ask of you. Should you choose to do so however, you can also click on the little heart (which is to add a work to your own "favorites" list), and you'll also find buttons for the various social media sites if the artist chooses to activate any or all of those buttons. These are the ways we promote each other. You may also choose to vote/like your own submissions. It's perfectly acceptable to do so.

@ Lee..... Is this where you suggested we go today? We were already there by the time you posted. LOL Went to see the church and from there went to Tombstone. It's the Helldorado weekend in Tombstone, and we met a couple of Ruby's friends who were in period garb. From there, we headed over to Boot Hill. I'd already been to Tombstone, but Ken and Ruby had never been there. It was fun. The church was a bit of a problem to photograph, because of signs all over the place, a swap meet there today, and some old cars on display who parked right in front of the main entrance, but I still got enough shots for memories, if nothing else.

Guess I'd better start trying to catch up here.

:)

I survived Pumpkin Palooza 2014. Each month there is an event at work, and todays was all about pumpkins. I was able to get some cute snap shots of the animals getting their pumpkins. The cutest were the otters with their fish filled pumpkin. Even the shark were given a couple.

Hi 53...going back to finish 52.
Got home late from the festival. Good day, not as good as last weekend! but I had a great Visit from ........somebody from our group!!!! Woohoo, Penny Lisowski. visited today from Winder, GA... I was just delighted that she drove up to see me. Rick and I really enjoyed meeting her and her husband Chuck. Lovely people and she gave me some great festival/photographic tips..hoping we get together again soon...Thank you so much Penny...you are the best!
and I did have another interesting visitor....no comparison of course to Penny but Rosalynn Carter was at the festival and she visited my booth. She was campaigning for her grandson Jason for governor. We had a nice chat about Jimmy's artwork . He paints in oils as well. She remarked that they had artwork all over the house and I commented that she had a special look when she said that that reminded me of my husband when he says the same thing. She was caught in the act and laughed. She gave me an address to write her and she would give me a personal tour of Jimmy Carter's paintings. I gave her a small print of my mules to give to Carter because after all, he was a peanut farmer...and she asked the medium, said she would give it to him. It was quite an honor to meet her. You would never suspect she was 87 years old.
Hope you guys have been behaving.
Great pictures Anne...and hello back!

Jan, what an exciting day you've had. I'm so glad the weather is cooperating for you this week too. And what fun it must have been to meet our Penny.

If things go as planned, tomorrow we'll take a ride to see those housing complexes I wanted to check out. I guess we'll have to call in the morning and see if we can come up there before we leave though.

Great story Jan - hope tomorrow goes well too! So nice that Penny came by and then getting to meet a former First Lady too! I turned 18 just in time to vote for Jimmy Carter in '76 and was thrilled to attend a press conference he gave for college newspaper editors at the White House a couple years later - but it was in a large room so didn't get the chance to meet him. I so admire the work that he and Rosalynn have done in the years since he left office with Habitat for Humanity and other causes that really help people. She always seemed like a wonderful person - how exciting to meet her and get to chat in person! Did you know they had a solar shower at the White House when he was president? (Can you guess I'm a tree-hugging Democrat from New York?) They've been married for 67 years - pretty amazing - thought you'd enjoy this clip: http://www.people.com/article/jimmy-rosalynn-carter-67-years-marriage

It's midnight here so thought I'd try to get my Sunday image in before the big skip.

Night all - see you in the am!

Greetings everyone. Just returned today from leading a history-related tour in PA. I managed to find a few moments to capture a few images while on the go. Really missed the group over the past week. I will be working back through #52 over the next few days to see what I missed.

Jan ... what a great moment at the show with Mrs. Carter! Thank you for sharing.

Anne ... enjoy the time away in AZ!

Wow, Jan, that's one amazing day. I love Jimmy Carter - a man of integrity - not quite old enough to vote for him, but old enough to remember how tough he had it during his presidency with the Iranian hostage crisis and awful economy.

Good night.

Probably not many people still up and about but am posting this older photo now as we're heading for the mountains early this morning (Sunday.) Will be my last post for at least a week but I'll check in and try to stay current with votes/likes. Beautiful work from everyone today.

I was pleasantly surprised a few minutes ago. Had a small sale earlier and I believe the buyer left a comment saying she had also spent many a time fishing off the pier (I had made a comment in my narrative about fishing on the pier as a kid with my Dad.) Made me feel good to know my photo brought back nice memories for her.

Anyway, ya'll take care and I'll catch up with everyone tomorrow evening .... somewhere in north GA. .. waving at Jan as we pass by. :)

Oh I have a headache like I am sure Terri does ...
Kim or anyone else, I have my new domain name...
I only found one spot under Go Daddy where it has four places to put in the new server names under Domain Regester defaults. It says DNS control-enter name servers
I put that number which it doesnt accept
and my website for here there and it accepted.
Can you tell me what I am doing wrong. It doesn't say A Record anywhere, or CName
