How Do I Designate The Item I Am Selling As A Print?

The option to designate my photographs as a PRINT is gone from the upload page. How do I designate a photo as a print. Currently, they all go up as Originals??? Then I have to edit them where the option to designate as a print is present. This makes for double work. Please help.

Perhaps a little bit more of what you are trying to do will help to answer the question. What is it that you want to show on your sales page? Currently I see the array of prints that are offered. There is no way to eliminate canvas and metal for instance. They are part of the package regardless.

On your sales page it designates the items as "Buy Prints/Greeting Cards"

You can also program your default settings to automatically price all of your prints by going "Behind The Scenes" under General "Default Settings"

P.S. Nice work!

I see all print options available for sale, and it is not showing originals for sale.
Beautiful images, btw!

If you put in prices, it will show as a print.

If you leave the prices out, it will show up as an original and you have to put in contact information to in the description area.

I agree, very nice work.

It looks like to me that you did it right. The are showing up as prints.

You need to add descriptions, good descriptions with search terms.

Mountain scene - not good

Mountain scene of the Gran Tetons taken from lookout point near Picuteville California.

I know that is not correct.... but I think you get the picture... get it? Get the picture? lol

Okay not so funny.

WOW! I just looked deeper at you gallery! Really fantastic. I see you have been here a long time so I may not have understood you question.

Incidentally, you do know that Monterrey is in California, not Tennessee right? lol

Sorry, not funny again.

My mother-law-was from Paris Arkansas. She used to get that all the time. :-)

Douglas is talking about prints sold from home

We do not have that area any longer. It just confused the customers

I have let Sean know that it is still showing on the edit page (I believe you said) but he will remove that soon

Hi Douglas.
Great images but you should get your page to open on your galleries.
As it is you have so many images it makes it easier for a buyer to see what galleries you have and go straight to the ones he wants to look at

Thanks to all, and I still cannot upload images and they appear a PRINTS. When I upload an image or multiple images and view them, they are designated as ORIGINALS. I have to edit each image separately and change inches to Pixels and Original to prints. In settings, I have Photographs selected. In settings there is not a place for me to designate Originals or Prints (unless I am just not finding it).

It is really time consuming to upload an image and then have to edit the image again. Please, please, help me in my ignorance. What am I doing wrong??

Earlier it was so easy. Now difficult and time consuming.

AND thanks for all your generous comments on my images. I appreciate them.

Ok I have been informed that we now ARE allowing original prints again but you may not designate them as photographs AND original prints

But how do I stop them from automatically being designated as Originals when I upload them. I only sell Prints. Currently when I upload they are all automatically labeled Originals.

Abbie, somebody PLEASE HELP. I have many (approx 75) images which I need to upload. BUT I need to resolve this issue first, else the work involve is considerable !

I am afraid the default is original.

You will have to change that manually

Please consider asking them to make this easier ! I would assume few people sell Originals. Maybe I do not understand the term original. If I sell an original do I destroy the digital image on my computer? OR does it mean that I can sell an original to one individual and then the same image to a second individual, again and again and again? Maybe I do not understand the term original.

Is the term "Original" for photographic image defined somwhere?

original prints? for digital painters and photogragphers does that mean limited editions?

Abbie Shores

It is not for photography. It is for paintings and sculptures, jewellery, actual tangible, physical products

We sell the prints so if you are selling prints through us you just leave that area totally alone

Some people do have prints they are selling from home and that area prints is for those

Nicole Whittaker

ok, cool. will continue to leave that area alone then.

So, my understanding is that our images from digital photographs will be designated as Originals and the term Original will have no meaning for Photographers selling prints. Please confirm that statement for accuracy.

Also, please confirm that I do NOT have to edit all images uploaded and change the Original to Print.

Thanks for your help with this issue.

FYI I sell prints on Fineartamerica. I do not sell them as an individual, privately.

I would not think it advisable for Fineartamerica to mislead customers by designating images as Originals, but then the lawyers need to decide that I suppose.

If you are not selling by printing yourself then you do not need to be in that area at all....

It's for original art or prints you are selling from home. Nothing to do with selling prints through us that we print.

If we are doing your printing just leave it alone totally
