Fake Visit Numbers?

Being new to the site I posted my first images yesterday and have had 117 visits, which I thought seemed pretty good...until I realized 95% of them were from two locations. I am beginning to suspect that these visits are computer generated from FAA...possibly to encourage me to go for the premium membership (which is exactly what I did!). Being located in England, these two locations were in High Wycombe, England and Kiez, Germany. I looked at some other artists based in London and they seem to have visits from the same two locations. Am I imagining things?

They're bots. Bots are your friends. They are sent from search engines to sniff out our pages, catalog them and hopefully send visitors here. From the FAA FAQ --

1:I see the same visitor visiting all of my images shortly after I upload them. Should I be worried?

No. That's nothing to worry about. There are lots of automated programs (called web bots) that scan the internet for new webpages.

If you see a lot of visits from the same location, it's just a web bot. Don't worry - web bots are good. Google uses web bots to add new pages to their search results. So do Yahoo, Bing, etc...

those are bots, faa has better things to do then to send fake views. if you run out of space uploading, that is your encouragement to pay for the site. premium won't help you sell better. there are certain bots here that are overly aggressive. one might be a proxy server for the site.

Shame bots don't carry credit cards with them :)

i would have so much money if that was the case. just a dollar is all i ask. but the bots bring people with wallets. they are the street urchins of old england pulling people in to buy your elixir.

Bots are like spiders gathering potential buyers!

True but they seem to leave the web wide open too much so buyers may fall through the bots webs they spin on the web.

Karen, if I find a bot standing at the end of my bed tonight will it force me to buy something on the internet?

no, it will guide you to the site that sells things. if its a google bot it will burrow into your brain, so you should set out traps for the things.

Resistance is futile, right Mike?
I wish my bot visitors would produce some buyers for my work.

They are called "droids", I think...

I seem to have plenty of visitors(bots). Do they actually produce sales?

join some groups and that will give you a lot of real visitors too

bots generate views. bots bring back info to the hive, so when someone searches in google or etc, they will find you. that's what a bot does. people generate sales. so you have to advertise out when you can.

I have never looked at visitors here because they aren't realistic.
Whats the sense

I have over 4,000 hits on one image alone from a bot. I don't know what the obsession is all about, I just know its not human.
