For those that don't subscribe to Social Media Examiner I thought I would share this link giving preferred ways of posting links on Facebook to get maximum reach.
I found the article interesting

thank you Paul, that really is helpful.

it's the easist way to do it, too, so that is nice. i find i am not always offered the option to upload a photo. sometimes yes, sometimes, no. have you found that to be true?

I'm always so embarrassed about sharing my art on facebook...I don't know how people do it.

Lisa, you are the first person I have seen say that here...I feel the same! It is very, very hard for me to toot my own horn...seems way too much like boasting--something I was raised not to do! I know everyone else does it on Facebook, but not sure I will ever be comfortable doing it myself.

Embarrassment + Attempting to sell anything = Does not compute!

Both of you ladies make beautiful art; I can't imagine what you might be embarrassed about. Here's some homework for you -- spend a few nights performing at a karaoke bar. I'm betting you'll never, ever be embarrassed by anything after doing that! :-)

No need to be embarrassed about trying to sell your art! You both need to find a way to get over that. Sharing your work on FB can really increase your exposure.

Ladies - Go for it!!!
I must admit up until a couple of months ago I had more or less given up on Facebook, I wasn't getting many users see my work or any comments. I then discovered FB groups, I joined several run by other FAA members and a couple set up for the sale of art work. I response was great, many more comments/likes and, according to Google analytics, more visitors to my Artists website. - Just waiting for the sales now :)

I am still apprehensive about tooting my own horn -- I hope it gets easier.

thanks for sharing this article! I read it a couple of times.
About the best way to post the article says:

"The answer is the first one: use text and links with a preview to get the most visibility. Facebook announced that this type of link would be given more competitive reach than the other two. Remember, this is the default format when you add a link to a status update."

OK, I am not sure I understand the difference between the 1st one and the 3rd one. The 3rd one is how I've been posting my artwork on my FB art page. I tried posting just the link for my FAA art page, but up comes a large picture of my avatar which is my face. I'm not sure how this helps.

Doesn't make much difference to me - I'm clueless when it comes to facebook - and putting my art there. I have an account - and that's about it. I haven't friended anyone - not even the dear wife - I'm not interested in it for "friends and family" - unless they are buying art - and having said that - none of them are - I'm more or less just using it to visit in a few groups I belong to. and please, No point in sending me directions on how to have an art page - I can't read and follow directions - it gets screwed up every time and it's too much trouble to cancel a FB account and start over - done it twice now.
