Lets see everybody's little 4 legged friend.
Introducing "Loki" a 1 year 4 month old Manchester Terrier. He is probably one of the best dogs I've ever own.
The face is very similar to a Doberman and apparently Mr. Karl Doberman used the breed to create the original Doberman.
He is a "Velcro" dog :) meaning he goes with me everywhere where I go. Even in the shower.
Whats your dog breed?

@John I couldn't even imagine not having my little buddy anymore. I think it will break my heart. Lifespan is fairly long 16-18 years on average.
@Robert Many people have pitbulls where I live and the shelters are full. Very sad.

AP...
Two years ago I found a young pitbull shivering on the street. I got out of the car and called to this dog. She growled at me. But I called again.....She then crawled (not walked) crawled into my arms. I scooped her up and took her home and gave her to my wife. My wife had always wanted a pitbull (and had trained some at an animal shelter).
My wife said we had to find her real owners. Well, we did and they did NOT want the dog. So, we kept her. She has been with us for almost 3 years now, and is a wonderful dog and companion. IN fact, I usually take her with me when I take photographs from my car.

Lizzie is approaching her 14th birthday but still doing well. The silver fur mixed with the black just make her more beautiful. She is very popular at the dog park and a natural leader of the pack.
The spotty dog third in the line is Kozmo who we lost this may at the ripe old age of 16 1/2 years.

@ Robert.
People usually buy or get dogs when they are cute, little and cuddly not realizing this is a commitment for a very long time. Of course they end up on the street.
Well good for you. We also take photos and wish I would have some sort of protection. Right now I have to protect LOKI :). Next dog will be a Doberman if I can talk my boyfriend into it.

Cookie belonged to one of our neighbors and was nine months old when Hurricane Katrina blew through the Mississippi Gulf Coast and completely destroyed both of our homes. We were able to secure temporary housing before our neighbor and offered to take care of Cookie until he got settled.
One day shortly after she came to stay with us, I sat down on our empty slab and started sobbing. Cookie came up to me and tried to cheer me up by licking every inch of exposed skin on my face and neck. When I didn't stop crying she ran off, grabbed one of her toys, came back to me and started nudging me with the toy. Needless to say she stole my heart right then and there.
When our neighbor was settled enough to care for her again he realized how close she and I had gotten and he graciously let us keep her permanently and he rescued another terrier mix from the local shelter. It was a win-win situation for all of us.

@Kathy - nice story about Cookie. I'm glad you found each other.
@Abbey - I see the pups have been doing some growing since you first introduced them to us.

Aged Pixel, excellent images of your dog. I'm not sure if I posted this image before I know I poseted other dog image I have. This is Knight, a friend's four year old red collie that I kept for six months while she lived with me. He is a good boy, but I couldn't let him play too much with me because he has long teeth and tends to grab at your clothes and will tear them, I guess that is part of his "herding" instict. His grandfather was Red Knight a Grand National champion. She will eventually show him.

Thank you for starting this thread. So many adorable companions! A bright spot in the discussions. :)

These are my 4-legged friends, Comanche and Nugget. Sadly, Comanche just passed away this last Tuesday (Sept. 30). He was 12 years old and passed away peacefully in his sleep. I miss him terribly and this past week has been a rough one emotionally. Comanche's brother, Nugget, passed away 2 years ago due to K9 Leukemia....he also passed away peacefully. I'm so thankful we didn't have to make "that" decision of having to put either of them down. They were the best dogs anyone could ever ask for. And they were the reason I got so interested in photography. From the day we adopted them, they would pose for me.

This is my beautiful cat Recee. She was given to me by my neice who wanted a better life for her kitty. Recee was confined to a bedroom because of the other residents in the apt and started playing with her poop. Now my neice is married with two kids and a house and two cats and two dogs she rescued from a shelter. Recee is always there for me when I need lovin and she helps me paint when I am on the Transient Couch Studio. When I am not there she is loved by my son and the other roommates. Which includes a Love Bird named Sinatra.
