Good morning! Thanks to you wonderful people, The Foxfire Grill at Alpine has qualified for the next step in the process which is to be reviewed by the panel who will award the grants. She needed 250 votes and YOU GUYS PUT HER OVER THE TOP WITH 255 votes as of a few minutes ago.

Thanks, John. She really deserves it. She took an old house and turned it into a cute restaurant, she's created summer employment opportunities for high school kids and others and pays them well. This year Lisa expanded the business to include a saloon with live music putting even more artists to work! The Foxfire Grill at Alpine has truly become the social gathering site in their small community and, in case you can't tell, I'm very proud of her!

I am glad she has escaped the fires that occur up there all too frequently.

I took this image (and transformed it) from Mt. Escudilla - I have hiked the forest trail to the top a few times.

You can see how I love it up there. Now live in NC, so can't climb there anymore. But what great memories!

Bless your sister's heart! She sounds like she deserves that walk-in refrigerator no matter who is arranging it. Her cheesecake sounds wonderful and a great food experience.

Put an image or two in addition to John's to let us see what the countryside looks like, could be a great photo OP for those within traveling distance in addition to some wonderful cooking!

Anyway, I'm so happy she got the votes, and I look forward to visiting the Foxfire when I'm over that way!! (Need to plan a road trip, anyway.)
