New Contests

Will all administrators PLEASE STOP announcing New Contests in the Activity Page, only to have them start sometime later in the future.
It is most annoying and time wasting!

It is not the contest admins fault. The contests are just an announced as they are made automatically.

It is great as, if I want to enter one, I just add to my todo list and enter when it starts

everything is added to activity, i'd rather it be there, then to tell me the winners, features, new people etc, to my mail box. that's when its annoying.

whats more annoying is commenting on someone else's picture and forever being subscribed to it.

Hi Isabella,

I think it is the Administrators who announce their contests; but even if so, whoever announces them, should let those who want to partake start when they open the contest in their activity page, not let them wait.

Your todo list is a fine idea, but not if you are a member of many groups and partake in lots of contests.

Cheerio, Hartmut :-)

what i don't like is when its announced but they aren't accepting entries. that part is annoying.

Hi Mike,

I agree, it is annoying that those members we comment on stay on our list forever.
They should automatically be removed after, say a month or so.

Hi Mike,

Yes, that not accepting entries, is what I am complaining about.

Admins do not announce contests on the activity

Contests are automatically posted to the activity when created

Activity will show a few contests a day, not all the contests made

Hi Isabella,

Who announced a contest is not really the problem, announcing them (by whosoever)and then having to read that no submissions are accepted IS annoying!

I agree about the contests showing in the activity feed and then not accepting submissions until later. I don't get that at all. Why make a contest and then delay the submissions? You go through the trouble of clicking on the contest, reading the rules and then deciding to join in only to find on the third or fourth click that they're not accepting yet. Why bother at that point?
