Pinterest Pin Button

i don't get what you mean by social outlet. pinterest isn't much of a social place, people choose facebook usually. if they have a pin button on, it means they wouldn't mind you pinning their work to your board. if the artist didn't want to be pinned, you wouldn't be able to pin it at all. its not a breach of faith, i'm not sure how that applies.

If you click on a pinterest button and it is not turned on by the artist it would not work. It would not do anything, just have a pop up saying This artist does not want you sharing this image on Pinterest

If you are going to Pinterest then they have actually gone in and turned it on and want you to pin. It is off by default

Isabella, I'm not quite getting that. An artist I follow, Sophia Vitakis, has the Pinterest button off on the independent pages of each images. Yet I can pin an image from her "images" page when I first enter her site.

Same is true with others.

you can pin anything from the site, except for the main page. you can buy it, see it in the search etc. but you can still pin. it's the reason i turned it back on, you can't stop someone from putting it there, they will take it and upload it, take it from google. you lose control by turning off the button, sad but true.

When I try to pin a image from Sophia Vitakis (with the Pinterest Button on FAA or with the Pinterest Chrome Extension) I get exactly this message: "This artist does not want you sharing this image on Pinterest." Seems to work... I have not tried it with other browsers.

it won't work on that page, but if you try to buy it, it will work fine last i checked. its only protected on that one page.
