I Hate/love Stress.

Seems as if the more stress I have on me from various things, IE. work (Teach art) home or whatever the more art work I get done. The more just good old free time I have the less I do. I hate stress but seem to need it to get off my big old butt to get stuff done! How about you?

No stress here and proud to say I have eliminated most all of it from my life. It was a tough journey but worth every peaceful minute I now enjoy.

Turbulent situations seem to heighten my creativity but definitely would like to find this same creativity during peaceful times.

I have a ton of stress and cannot paint again. Stress dries up my desire.

Ronald, I'm a no stress is the best stress level. Stress is a killer, not good for the heart, gives you wrinkles, high blood pressure, makes you break out, creates constipation, anxiety, sleeplessness and who only knows what else. I'm self employed for that very reason, the only one that can give me stress is me, myself, and I and we don't do it.Lol

I am very self motivated and self regulated person. Give me stress and you better look out cuz you are removed from my to do list.

I use to say I accomplished more when I was working ten-hours a day. I only had so many hours to devote to off-work responsibilities. I am very organized so it was never a problem.

Since I retired, it doesn't bother me to leave something for tomorrow.

There is always a certain amount of stress in everyone's lives. I prefer stress-free living, and pretty much...my life is peaceful.

I will say the weather often determines how I spend my days.

I have a love hate relationship with stress......my multiple anxiety disorders are a prison and my constant state of consciousness. I am learning to kick it square in the face and harness my stress releasing it in other ways. The older I get the worse it gets ....recently had to cave and start taking Ativan for panic attacks. Pressure is a continuous harsh reality for me....been dealing with it since I was a child. Has it helped me artistically? Most definitely.....stress has been my motivation, my inspiration and my unforgiving sickness.....art is my medicine...my drug of choice.

I love my anxiety for where it has pushed me .....for creating this place within that I can go for inspiration.......however .........I hate myself. A sad reality I've lived with my entire life.

Your work is beautiful, it comes from within so I think there is a beautiful person in there, all my best.

Ron,

I am a mixed bag of stress, but the more art I do the less stress I feel.

I go through self discovery as I work. I need to obviously.

As a kid I found people to be very stressful. These days that is not so much the case.
I can deal with high levels of stress and manage the problems at hand. But I am reminded
that most of it is not my business nor should I get involved.

I am putting my head down and getting on with more art for a while. I will be happier.

The real killer is not stress, but inflammation. If you cave into to stress and let your heath go,
the real heath worry is inflammation. It will kill you.

Everyone get a flu shot. The flu causes inflammation. Avoid it.

Bravo Janice - you win the kewpie doll :) There is always stress in people's lives because, people feel stress during happy events as much as sad ones - it's just different. Buying new houses, moving into a new house, having a baby, moving to a new area of the country, traveling for vacation - all considered happy events but they also produce stress.

The only difference between good and bad stress is that good stress doesn't usually lead to heart attacks, etc... IMO, when people claim their lives are stress free, they just aren't necessarily recognizing it. I prefer bad stress-free also, so I try to keep it to a minimum.

Thank you Ronald I appreciate you saying that please know I wasn't fishing for compliments .......but I truly appreciate your words. it's an honest problem that many are ashamed to talk about I am just now admitting out loud how severe my anxiety issues are. Everyone around me has seen it and known but now as I apporoach 30 I am not afraid to acknowledge it. I create my own stress I am the problem in my own life.......I myself have to learn to find peace and as others have meantioned learn to let things go and not give it power.......everyone has stress it's how we manage it some are champions at brushing it off and most likely are much healthier than my 29 year old tangled and wound up body.

But to the thread topic yes stress has helped me artistically not only in what I produce but also the motivation to do so. My studio is where I go to be alone some nights my head is so chaotic that I can't hear myself think ......I get cozy in pjs ....make a cup of tea and get my dose of calm ...... Art saves me everytime

I find the act of creating to relaxing. I enjoy every second of it. For myself, I cannot create just any time I wish. I make time for art as it is a great joy to me. But I also know each artist has their own trigger. It is the business of being an artist. Good luck with your work. Peace!

Hate stress, but, like most others, have learned to live with it as it seems to be a common side-effect of life.

Stress and I will never, ever, be BFF.

doing nothing actually is stressful to me. meeting tight deadlines are too. moving forward at a controllable pace is ideal.

I am the same way, Ronald. The more stress I have with too many things, the more I get done.
