Watermarking

Do any of you watermark your images? People can do a screen grab - whats the best way to protect your images while still letting prospective buyers see them?

i'll assume this is another social experiment

but anyway no. its ugly, it doesn't stop people from taking it. and people who take were never going to buy them. many want these as a 24"+ print and they can't get it with a 900px image. the best way to protect yourself is to not have anything uploaded to the net.

I use the watermark and still sell.

Some people like them and find they're useful. Others hate them and are convinced they're worthless. They've been debated here ad nauseum and there's no middle ground. I suggest you review the hundred or so other threads on this subject, make up your own mind, then ignore the contrary opinions.

IMHO...

Everyone should watermark their images...

...except me.

Are we really going to have this discussion again?

Abbie, is it possible to have a link where this entire argument is all laid out and the new thread can just be sent to that link? I know you have the link when the marketing question comes up. It is full of great information and answers a lot of questions.

No offense to he op, it is a legitimate question for sure and there are volumes of information bout pro and con in the threads.

The fact is Watermarks Kill Sales!

Oh, and Bill is so right! lol

I agree with James.

Only you can decide what is right for you.

But once you decide you have to be committed to it and not be second guessing yourself. That will drive you crazy.
