Upload Problems - Again

I've tried several times yesterday and once today to upload new images. The upload process gets to about 85-95% and then reverts back to the "choose an image to upload" screen. I've tried two different files (one is 16MB and one is 19MB). I've cleared my cache, I've rebooted several times, and still no joy. This is seriously frustrating because I'm using mobile broadband and pay for the data I use, including failed uploads.

My uploads are not posting to twitter and I turned off the watermarks on some pieces and the cover photos for those still display the watermarks...........

Has a shorter timeout been implemented? I cannot figure out why this is happening. I uploaded several new images on Wed. and Thu. without a problem. Now I cannot upload at all.

@Joy, as far as I know you cannot turn off watermarks on existing images. It's applied during the upload process. So, if you turn it off, new uploads won't have watermarks. But, for the old ones, you either have to upload again, or contact support to have the watermark removed.

It was two days ago the new drop downs were implemented. It was two days ago when I was last successful in uploading. Coincidence? I doubt it.

i think there is a temp bin buffer that gets filled up. when its emptied, the uploads work again and we get a flood of back mail.

Loree,

I uploaded about 10-20 images yesterday and then the same the day before. AND I'm using AOL,which I'm told is the worst browser around and no problems. I make sure that I'm only using the browser for uploads, I have to turn off stuff like Pandora and I make sure that my speed is running as high as possible, 15-20mbps and I never have any issues.

Well usually out of 10 uploads, I will have on "oops"! and then a re-upload,so it's about 10% or less for me.........

Rich, I wish I could get that speed. I'm at a campground in central Oregon with a pretty weak 3G signal. And tomorrow, I'm going to an even more remote place. I guess I will just continue processing my images and save the uploading for when I am in a stronger coverage area. The downside to living on the road full time. But, the upsides are amazing, as you will see when I can finally upload some images. ;)

Here's one from the last successful batch:

Loree,

Nice! Are you using the same computer to edit your stuff or a new laptop. Was this RAW? Looks to have a little spot or two that on my monitor, looks blown out and the shadows/blacks look weak.

If I can't get at least 10mbps, I don't try to upload,

Every time someone has an upload ise with FAA, they naturally think it's FAA and not on their end. I just uploaded an image with no problems at all, FWIW. Took about a minute from selecting image to it being uploaded safely and securely.

Hey Rich, it's a relatively new laptop, but I've been editing with it for a couple of months. Lightroom shows no blinkies at all, and the blacks are all the way over to the left edge with no clipping. I just looked at it on another computer and a tablet and it looks fine to me on all of them.

I'm not blaming FAA for my slow connection. I'm just asking if the timeout limit has changed. Plus, I've never had it just go straight back to the upload screen after appearing to be working for seven or eight minutes.

The uploads are nothing to do with the CSS changes and people are uploading as we speak

Is there a ticket in support from you? I will talk there if there is as I can take look etc

Timeout has not changed

Thank you Abbie. I will try again in a few minutes and if it doesn't upload I will send a support ticket.

Loree,

Okay then if you're good with the image, then I'm good with the image! I never use the "blinkies" myself, just get it into Photoshop and then use the "eyedropper" and get the highs back down to 250 or 245,for printing.

I have a good laptop, and HP Pavillion,17", and loaded with stuff, but I don't use the laptop to edit images, since it seems that the angle of the screen changes stuff so much!

Maybe a small monitor, connected to the laptop is the answer,

Thanks for the suggestions and critique Rich. I cannot find any spot brighter than 250 (red) in that file. But, even if I wanted to tone it down and upload the edit, I couldn't right now. That was the topic of this thread. :)

I'm very happy for you Joseph. :) I uploaded 10 on Wed. and Thu. without any problems, so I guess everything's okay. Must just be my quota for the week, lol.

Now I am having more issues with uploading, NONE of the default settings are in after uploading, no artist name, no medium, and worst is no default pricing. Up loading one image worked fine, when I went to another image all the settings were no longer there. Arrrrrrrggggg.... Now I get this Your session has timed out. Please log back in to Fine Art America. Everything was fine until the "routine maintenance" yesterday.

Well, I have six more that are all processed and ready to upload. But, I'm just going to wait until I am in an area with a stronger signal. Meanwhile, I keep shooting. :-)
