Gallery Size

I'm in the process of reorganizing my galleries by adding some new ones, deleting, and rearranging. I am wondering whether it is good to have a large number of galleries with a smaller number of images or fewer galleries with a lot of images. I plan to have most of my images in a single gallery rather than spread across many galleries. Any thoughts?

I have no idea which is best but I had so many automotive pictures I thought it would help to organise them into separate galleries. Now we have other images under our main ones I would think it's better to group similar key worded pictures together and on the artists website you have to keep clicking "next page" which gets tedious.

Logically, you have multiple galleries so things are grouped together that belong together. This helps folks find what they are looking for. Having just one or two galleries defeats this purpose. Remember you can have an image in more than one gallery if this helps you organize them better.

I have quite a few galleries and put images in multiple galleries if they fit the theme. I agree with Joseph, if you are going to put most of your images in one gallery then why even bother having galleries, why not just have your profile default to "images"? Galleries are there to organize your images by a common theme so that if somebody comes to your profile looking for something with a specific theme, the search is narrowed down for them.

its best to just be organized. the size doesn't matter as much as how easy it is to find things. its best not to copy the same images into many galleries. some like to do that, it makes their gallery larger, but it just confuses the buyers.

right now the only thing i can say to do is to group the galleries order, so the subjects are on one side and the abstracts, etc are grouped up as well.

I put some of my images in multiple galleries, not to make the galleries look bigger but because if they fit more then one theme then that's a second chance for it to get seen. If it would work in two galleries, but I only have the image in one, and customer happens to go to the gallery that doesn't have that image, it could be a missed opportunity. But I don't do it with all of them, and I usually only put it in no more then two or three galleries, even if it would fit in more.

Thanks, Mike. I think your suggestion makes the most sense.
