Tips For Social Media...

I’m a novice at social media-shocking to some I’m sure:) Any tips on how to actually 'do' social media once accounts are established? If I could have someone say do these 5-10 things to get started and do these 5-10 things each day/wk/mth. A road map/daily routine to social media marketing....need a place to start as I do not want to be like the lady in the esurance commercial ( http://www.esurance.com/commercials/beatrice) "That's not how it works, that's not how any of this works!" :)

I recently established a pinteret page, google + and FB(still hidden-b/c someone said I needed to load lots of images first?!?-So dont know if need to load all photos or just start posting). And I now find myself going - now what? What to do now? How to get noticed by buyers?

Thank you in advance for any tips!!!!!!:)

Well why are you hiding your Facebook page? Think about that for a minute if it is hidden then no one will see it to like it. That defeats the purpose in having a page.

Agree Jeffery! Someone mentioned I needed lots of pictures before publishing, yet guess everyone had to start somewhere:) And I think it's silly to post daily with no one seeing.
Thanks!

Once you have your images/pages ready, you'll need to follow/friend other people. Many of these people will then follow you back and share your work if they like it.

Thank you Jeffery for the ideas!
Thank you Aaron - so it's similar to FAA - just need to find the "follow" button and activity stream within each social media platform

Christy...I hope this link works because I asked a similar question a few days ago and received some wonderful advice. I went with the FB page and started that a couple of days ago. So far, so good. I am on FB to begin with, so it wasn't a stretch for me to add another page, whereas I dont tweet, or pinterest, or whatever! Here is the link to my discussion -I hope! I am going to your gallery, will follow your work and if you go to my page, you can see my FB page link and see how it works. What I have done is selected a couple of artists whose work I really admire, like their FB page, shared some of their artwork on my page...and hopefully they will reciprocate. It really is about building a rapport and networking...

Thank you Karen! Happy to follow your work! I always love your comments to everyone's work - very heart warming!

Without having a link to an artist page - how did you find other artists?

you mean on FB? Well, I just sort of looked, I guess. If I went to their FAA profile page..sometimes it is mentioned there. Since I am just starting out...I found that Miroslava Jurcik, for example...mentions her FB page on her profile. So I found her on FB, liked her...and shared a link to her FB page. Hopefully she will return the favor. Some I have searched for don't have FB but tweet, or Google plus, which I don't do. For me, I can only spend so much time on FAA and FB...it is a little addicting, but can only do so much! So for me, FB was the answer. Will see if if pays off. FB keeps prodding me to buy ad promotions, etc but I am sticking to the free stuff.

Yes, FB
Thank you again Karen! I like how you have the "click here to start shopping" button on the FB page!

Thanks Christy. FAA has that shop app prebuilt into the Fan page. But I renamed it so people had a clearer idea of what it was for. I also decided, Christy, to add the FAA logo watermark to my images. If you are going to post on FB, you need to have some sort of copyright/watermark protection. I have had a few images 'borrowed' without my permission...

Nice! on a prebuilt app! I'll search for that, as I am having no luck with "manage tabs".

Yikes! On the borrowing..not cool!! Thanks for the tip on wm. I did add the wm to some photos, yet it is not on the photos that are posted from the FAA or AW website
