Congrats.... The sale of anything means your image is worth someone parting with their money to have it. A card is as meaningfull as a large print in that regard.
Pricing....
OK, first of all you may actually be hurting your sales with your pricing. Art is an odd market in that perceived value plays a huge role in what people consider good art. The more you charge the more perceived value many buyers will put on a piece. If people want cheap art they can go to a box store and get it for next to nothing. They come here to get unique and get a piece with value. When your 48 inch art is 300 dollars less than mine you are subconsciously telling the buyer you are not as good as me where in reality your art stands on its own merit against anyone on this site. Cheap prices give buyers a reason to doubt you; don’t give them that second thought.
You asked what YOU would pay for a card. This is probably the most important thing I will say here. You are NOT your market. I will tell you right now I cannot afford my art as I have it priced. People that work in a Porsche plant probably cannot afford a new Porsche. Your post card is NOT something that is mass produced and can be purchased in a local drug store. It is unique art and many will frame that art and treat it as they would a small print. Charge with that in mind. I charge $15 retail on mine and there are artists that charge more and sell well. Heck, I charge more for a phone cover than you do for a 48 inch print. Your art is every bit as good as and as valuable as mine. You CAN charge more.
