What Pictures Can I Not Print In A Book

I'm planning to do some small books and some of the photographs will have photos of named places such as...."Judy's Bar and Grill", "Up In Smoke", St Vincent's Catholic Church"...etc.
Can I publish these pictures in a book? Is there some kind of fee I have to pay? Just want to get that cleared up before I spend money!

Is it a non fiction book like a restaurant guide? For editorial work you have a lot of freedom to use your own photos if they are taken legally. No fee to use your own photos. A good idea is to contact the property owners. Also if you were not on public property when you took the photos you may want to get a property release. And of course consult a lawyer to be sure.

It's simply a photographic book of certain towns and areas. No discussion. A few descriptive words.

Who would you pay a fee to other then the printer? You only need a property release if you were using the image for commercial purposes.

Question: Will this be a self published book?

You mention spending money so one may assume this is self published.

If not self published these sort of questions are normally handled by the publisher.

At any rate, if you are self publishing, and are still concerned with the reaction of places such as, "Judy's Bar and Grill", and others, I suggest there is a new thread here regarding, quid pro quo.
