A tripod or two go with me everywhere I travel. I think it's impossible for us to be so still...and the best captures are sometimes blurred...but I want as much reality as I can capture.

The problem with tripods is that they are static,,,To capture a great photo it is often necessary to be on the move ...The new technology that is being incorporated into smartphones will probably be incorporated into pro cameras that may eliminate the need for one,

For video a tripod is a must. Shakey video is annoying and for stock it is the first thing that gets a clip rejected.

Good - tripods slow you down and make you think about your composition. Allow for long exposures.

Bad - tripods slow you down and often lock one into a certain height.
