Making Faa Easier To Use

does anyone know of any third party tools to make using this site easier? the navigation, uploading, arranging, etc all seems so archaic and a bit convoluted (especially when trying to rearrange photos in a gallery). i want to be able to see all my photos in a gallery in one view and be able to make changes without having to jump out of that view and then coming back. that is just one issue but one i am trying to work around right now

is there any plans to update the site to a more user friendly experience?

Look into the Time App. Combined with the Try and Try Again App, you should get it in no time! Seriously, do what we all did and just messed around with the site until we got it. It's actually not that hard.

thanks Joseph, i will look into those :)

Click the Help tab at the top of the discussions - there's a long list of tutorials that the moderator Abbie has made. Its in the FAQs thread.

There are no work arounds really - you just have keep at it and things get a lot quicker as you keep doing them.

What kind of changes are you trying to make Mark? If you go to edit gallery you can

change image position
add or delete images
change gallery logo
see keywords attached to images

(that's all I can think of :-)

Your portfolio is outrageous!
I'm stuck in your self portraits and that home page on your own website is awesome sick!

Here, everyone go look!

by the way, mark, it is as easy as abc ( a bit convoluted)

Cool

Marlene, thank you much :)

Pamela, i am just used to dragging to re position images in galleries, the "position" drop down makes me have to do math to figure out where i want it to end up :)

it's all good i am getting it. i deleted the whole gallery and started over again and the second tme around made sure the images went straight to the galleries i wanted them to

Heather, i will take a look at those too, thanks

Marlene is so right, your work is amazing!

As far as making the process less time consuming, we keep hearing about some major changes in the works, but no one knows exactly what those will entail. We can only hope that the uploading process will be streamlined and image placement improved. We shall see.

thank you april both for your compliments and for the info. i have only ever heard great things about this site and hope to use it more and more as i build my portfolio

Mark,
Watch the discussions for one called Weekly Suggestions For The Week Of......and then there will be a date for the appropriate week. You could suggest the drag/drop feature.

it takes a while to understand the place. and maybe there is an update just around the corner. but yeah, the site takes a bit getting used to at first.

I found that if I order the main image order first then the galleries fall into place easier. I am hoping for a drag and drop method someday.

Marlene, i was actually in a ton of pain when i shot that one. i had these wicked back spasms so the look on my face in the middle is genuine anguish and agony :(

Bradford that would be ideal, thnaks

I hear you, Mark....some of an artist's best work is when we are working through the pain. There's no replacement for authenticity.

Absolutely brilliant work, mark:
