Vintage Car Identification?

Leaning on the cars experts out there to see if anyone can possibly provide make, model, year of these two cars. Got the shots early Saturday afternoon, but not sure what make they are. I'm thinking Buick, but am probably wrong. I want to title these correctly before I post them for sale. Thanks in advance for any info.

A psuedo-pano of the trio of vintage cars as they are actually positioned in the roadside field. I know the one on the right is a Corvair, just don't know the year. All the Corvairs looked the same to me:

1tda looks like a 1953 Buick, not sure of 2tda but it looks like a Buick also probably around the same year.
In Vintage Car field the car on the far right looks a little like an early 60's Chevrolet Corvair, but it's hard to tell with all the brush.

I'm no expert..but I can confirm the 2 Buiks... The first one's a 1954 Buik 8.. the second one is the same model but a different year, and Richard nailed the 1960 Corvair.

Thanks, Richard and Barry. After looking up both the '53 and '54's, and comaring grills, hoods, and the partial view of the left rear upper fender in image 1tda (#'s in my filing system), it appears to be a 1953 Buick. What's tough is deciding if it's a Special, Skylark, 8, etc., as not a lot of car in my images to see. These are located in a private field, and am unable to get to them from what I can tell. Definitely hard to tell what year the Corvair is, so will have to go with 60's era in the description. Appreciate the assistance! :)

Greg,

Nice shots! Nice effect too! The Buicks are both 1953 Roadmasters, one looks like a 2 door and the other is a 4 door. Skylarks were convertibles,I'm pretty sure and these are both hardtops.

Here's mine, from a show, the picture, not the car!

Thanks, Rich. I looked thru your galleries this morning looking for car makes/dates, but didn't see the Buicks. I probably overlooked them. Which gallery of yours are they in? The two cars in the images I got are both hardtops. Accessibility to get a closer look is not feasible, so I have to be content to view them from the side of the highway with 70mph traffic zipping by. The 3 images in this thread have been deleted, as they were incomplete renderings, and have been replaced with finished ones in my Transportation gallery.

Greg,

All the cars should be in the main category, Cars and other means fo Fast Transportation. Way in the back, is the only Buick that I have, I think,

I'm impressed, Rich. 27 pages of cars and trucks. You've got some nice work in there! Didn't find the '53 Buick, but that's okay.

Greg,

You're such a "slacker"!!! All you had to do is look through 27 pages and there it was,Image 1317! I think I have a few other Buicks, but probably newer versions............

Lol, I looked at all 27 pages, Rich. Gonna have to try again tomorrow. :)

Greg,

Ok,ok,you're not a slacker!!! BUT, if "I" was looking for that Buick and "I" knew it was at the tail end and also image #1317, "I" would probably start at the end!

p.s. It's really probably not worth the effort,as far as that image is concerned..............

Thanks! :)

I like the close-cropped shot, plus I can see what the badge emblem on the front of the hood looks like. The cars I found only have the surrounding oval, with the center logo missing from what I can tell (I need a longer zoom lens, lol ).

Good thread. While we are at it :)) I thought to throw one of my own out there. I'm a lifetime gear head and car guy but mostly focused on the '62 through '72 musclecar era.

I'm guessing this GMC truck is a '55. The 5-6 and 57 Chevrolet models are much easier for me to identify.. GMC had their own unique details

Tom,

Nice shot! definitely not 1955, that was the new front end year. My guess is 1949-1954 and probably more around 1951-53. Look at the chrome grill and see how it's made up of pieces and you can see the seams. If you've got any more shots, that would help...............

Pardon the interruption gentlemen, if I might interject a quick note to save time next time.

Our profile pages are set up with keyword searches. Rich I went to your profile, searched Buick. I think 5 or 6 came up? but only one was a 53.

Thanks Rich..I do have more but still RAW NEF files.

Pam,

Thanks for checking and I think you're probably right about the '53 being the only '53. For some reason, I rarely see Buicks at car shows!

Tom, just run it through the Nikon RAW program and then just upload it and then make a small file and let's see what else you can show. Any more of the side would help and of course, a full shot of the whole car would be fun too!

Rich,

Those rear fins on that '59 remind me of the style of the '59 and '60 Chevy Impala. A friend of mine in high school had one of each.

Rich - I love the above Buick work that you have in your gallery, my earlier comment about the "only" 53 was an example to show how easie peesie it was to find it using the search function.

Thank you Greg.

this is my favorite Buick in my portfolio, I am uncertain of the year.

Pamela,

A quick search, and it looks like it might be a 1950. The badge on the front of the hood, the hood emblem, and the 3 oblong vents on the sides of the hood match an image i found online a moment ago.

Pam,

My guess for your Buick, is this 1950 buick Special, with the "waterfall grille"
