Welcome To Our Family.
The rules? No rules; just an expectation that we all "do unto others." In other words, if you want others to promote your work, you should do the same for them. Those of us who take a full part in promoting ourselves and others try to do so for a 24 hour period or longer if possible. That includes opening the Big Skip and promoting the images in there too.
GENERAL INFORMATION AND HOW WE DO THINGS HERE:
Please use the URL for your image postings, rather than the copy and paste code. Posting the photo itself, rather than a link will make it difficult for people who don't have high speed internet, as well it might cause people to skip over your post without promoting.
Only 1 image is allowed per day, both in this discussion and in the group.
There is NO contest vote solicitation allowed on the discussion boards.
If you are posting nudes, or other questionable images, please post a warning notice with your link. There are children here, as well as adults who choose not to look at that type of image.
Please do not post links from your pixels.com account or any other FAA mirror site. It tends to create problems for some people and most will skip those links.
ABSOLUTELY NO images of nudity, death, cruelty or violence of any kind on the main board, where you have no ability to post a warning.
Finally, JUST HAVE FUN!! This is an incredible group of people who will make you feel welcome from your first post!!
TO ALL NEWCOMERS: I realize that some of you are so new to not only the group, but to FAA, that I thought perhaps a little clarification is in order. I'm sure you've noticed that while we can't require anyone to vote/like anyone elses work, we do tend to treat people the way people treat others. But I also realized that you may not have a clue what we're talking about, so........... to "like" someone's work, you click on their blue link, which opens up that particular piece. In the upper right corner, you'll see a few little icons. One is a thumbs up, which is what you press to "like/vote" for that piece of art. Most of us here press that whether we love the work or not. It's how we help each other to move up in the FAA search standings (even though FAA now says it doesn't count for very much, but that's now past history and it is what it is). That's all we ask of you. Should you choose to do so however, you can also click on the little heart (which is to add a work to your own "favorites" list), and you'll also find buttons for the various social media sites if the artist chooses to activate any or all of those buttons. These are the ways we promote each other. You may also choose to vote/like your own submissions. It's perfectly acceptable to do so.

Hello #48! Reposting Saturday's image here: http://fineartamerica.com/featured/wrigley-field-stephen-stookey.html

Linsey, I don't think we can paint everyone with the same brush. The terrorists are just plain evil, and they make a mockery of the good people of the Muslim faith who are just as horrified at what they do as we are. I really do believe in my heart that most people are good, and caring. Terrorists are just plain evil!! There's a huge difference between the two.

Sorry Anne i beg to difer . I havnt seen many of this faith standing up and marching against their brotherhood. Sorry but we are bbeing to soft as usual. Saying no more as we do not really have free speech do we.
Lins, whatever free speech is, I'm very grateful that we have more than most.
What's going on is a complete horror, and I agree that so far we've been too soft. Hopefully, our leaders (such as they may be) will step up and wipe that evil off the face of the earth forever.

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been around. I had my tooth pulled last night and was rather out of it last night and today. Had to take percoset because of the pain. They had a small problem getting this tooth out this time. Never had that issue before. But it is out and I am finally starting to feel normal. I took Motrin a few minutes ago and it is doing better than the percoset for me. So I am going to catch up in here and #47!
I hope everyone is doing well!

oops meant to say good night! It's been a crazy day - going to go do some sketching now that the two littles are out of steam! Thank goodness they all go to school now and weekends are only two days long!
I need a vacation!

Hi Terry!!
Well I saw many posts about the 11th. It still gives me goosebumps to this day and I can't watch the shows because I still cry. My thoughts and prayer are to all who had family and friends in the towers that day and to those heros who died trying to save others. My thoughts and prayers to America as that changed our country forever. My thoughts and prayers to our allies who are also affected by this day!
Thank you all for sharing your stories of where you were that day. I would like to share mine as well. I was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base and I woke up that morning listening to the radio. I was getting readyfor work, hearing what they were talking about and I was thinking it was a joke. I didn't believe any of it. I get to work and it was freaking crazy. My job in the Air Force at that time was fixing the radios and navigation equipment on KC-135s (refuelers). Those that worked nights couldn't go home. Those that were at home were called in. I worked day shift. We were putting tape in all the windows of the buildings. We were going out on the flightline and closing and locking all the jets. Then we were sitting, waiting for word of what was to come next. Then I was sent back to my dorm room to pack. I had to make phone calls. I was instructed to tell my family that I was leaving and that is all that I could tell them. I couldn't tell them when I was leaving or where I was going. That was the hardest thing to do when I spoke to my mother. She started crying. I had no idea where I was going either, I was just told to be at a certain place at a certain time ready to go. Then we were off, I was in place one week later somewhere (I knew where by then). So many emotions were going through me. I was scared and angry. Angry that people could do this kind of crap. I am still angry today. I will never understand these terrorist groups...ever. I just don't get it. What difference does it make that we believe different things than them. What does it matter. It doesn't harm them in anyway. They are the ones causing harm for no good reason. None.
Alright. I am off my soap box. Just wanted to share. Prayers to all for what is needed! Hugs to all too!

I so enjoyed the sing a long and patriotism, thank you Lins & Terri! Then the horrible news that the terrorists have killed again.
I’m tired of leaders who afraid to take care of business. It is terrible what these animals have done and the world needs to see that justice is served.
I’m tired of these animals who hide behind a mask, as well as women and children, and kill innocent people for their religion.
I’m tired of being politically correct for fear of offending a muslin, when it is their religion that these animals follow.
I pray that our leaders will get off their behinds and take care of these horrible people. Enough is enough.
Thoughts and prayers for all. (((hugs))) for those that need or want them

Caught up for 24 and wanting to ask a big favor.
I want to post my latest painting. I painted this scene using a FAA friend's photograph as a reference. Some of you you may know Joel E.Blyler from Donna Kennedy's group. Anyway, since he so graciously allowed me to use his awesome artwork to make my artwork, I would really like if you could promote/like (whatever you have time for) his work tonight as well as mine. If you only have time for one, just do his. I'm sure you will see mine again...LOL and I will not be posting again for at least a few days.
Anyway, before you look, I gave up early on trying to make it an exact copy. It would have taken me way too long and I did not see any reason to copy him exactly...not that I could anyway.
My photograph is not the best, we will probably try and redo the photograph when I get home before I send to Terri for her miracles..
