I love the bold bright color of Acrylics, but have yet to master them. Would love to do palette knife paintings with it - wonder if it's thick enough.

Anyhows.... Golden Taklon brushes - & they are cheap too , because they are synthetic & not natural hairs. Grab a bunch - & have a blast.

EDIT: I like the white synthetic - just so that I can see the color clearly.

i only use synthetic..and I never invest in 'good' brushes...I'd rather toss when they punk out on me and get new ones.
ENJOY!

I agree with Marlene: always buy inexpensive brushes, though sometimes fine glazing techniques require certain soft hair brushes that may be costly. Just be careful. For me, I have found no difference in brushes for acrylics and oils--the old concept that synthetics are not good for oils is more of an advertising ploy than reality. I use all types---even little kids' craft brushes--if they fail, I discard them. Of course, expensive brushes will do, too, but are generally uncessary. For what it's worth, in my 40+ years of painting, I can count on one hand how many brushes I've had to throw away--somehow their life remains endless.

if you use the inexpensive brushes you may want to soak them in water first and slap em a little bit or run them around in your fingers so any loose hairs fall off prior to painting to reduce the chances of hairs falling off as your painting.

I agree with Janine and Marlene, synthetic, I also agree that white is best. Inexpensive so very easy to replace :-) and great mark making capabilities, I love the springiness to them!!

Save those beat up brushes - they are the best . Those are the ones that you can moosh & smoosh for all the effects.
If it doesn't work for your acrylics , use them for watercolor effects.
