Temporary Website Issues

Jeffrey, you're going to need to keep bumping this notice up to first place in order for this to happen. Unfortunately, with the search for discussions less than efficient and if I were having MAJOR issues, like Ana Maria with her entire portfolio page going blank, I wouldn't be even looking on page one...

I'm very well aware this will require bumping, thanks.

Bad gateways, missing gallery buttons for previous and next, too slow times to have a page pop up.... the new gadget shows totally unrelated images on my image pages....

On my AW, when i choose a photo, choose a print medium, and then select a different size, the price says 0.00. However, I've only found this issue on one computer. I've tried it on guest account, admin account (Mac), cleared cache, etc. I've tried two other computers and it works fine though. But for what its worth, on this computer, it wasn't happening maybe a week or so ago? So not sure if something changed within the last week locally on this computer which I don't think so, or something with the website. Just thought I'd drop a line here about it just in case.

I think it would be beneficial to all artists and people - "in the know."..to have this announcement before all the hell brakes loose..If we are made aware of possible problems/work being done on the site/adjustments.....we would not get out knickers in the twist so much...so this is just a suggestion...

I am still all over the place..blank images..duplicate images in our new feature..not able to to access my gallery..one minute its here...and the next blanks! So difficult to operate my gallery at the moment..problems with loading..and the list goes on...

Sean..I replied to your email...and I hear silence...

Hey all, I am still fairly new here, but wondered if there is a change log or if there will be an announcement regarding the new features and changes?
I will report any bugs I come across, but it's hard to know what might be a bug and what might be a change.

For example, my images no longer show those tiny group features anymore, but they now show "more from Jess Williams" (which is awesome). New change or new bug? Until we see a list of changes and features, we can't know.

This must be an issue of mine because I checked activity and noticed others are posting new artwork, so why cant 't I?

Vivian, Sean has responded on that thread. The mystery images were Sean's left over from a past site test.

Nearly two weeks ago (8/29/14) I requested that the watermarks be eliminated from my images. A few hours later I noticed that 32 images, 96 comments and 4,134 views had disappeared from my portfolio. The missing images include my most viewed image with over 1200 views. I reported the loss immediately but so far no images have been found and no one has told me anything. I'm fairly upset as it will be nearly impossible to identify which images from over 1000 images are lost.

and obviously downright worrying it has been for Skip, though! even if he doesn't mind.......This could all be avoided of course..........either by business-like advice to the member if their pages are being used as test sites..?? ( unheard of)......!...or an explanation/warning were pronounced.

Changing passwords is always good advice, though.

i was only able to post a profile picture...i cannot get any new photos to upload. new to site and already frustrated.

You may be doing everything correctly and it's truly a problem with the site, but many newcomers forget after uploading the image to scroll down to the bottom of the upload page and hit "Submit".

I noticed a couple of my pic icons were blank today.. hope it is fixed...

i still have totally unrelated see more images under my work...that is in a gallery.

I think the image uploader may not be working. I uploaded twice, put in my data, and clicked submit. It appeared to be submitting for awhile and then got a white page and lost the upload and data.

Edit: Oops, checked my gallery again and it is now there.

I've just changed the position of my first six photos so that they complement my latest uploaded image. So for example if i just uploaded a photo of a mountain, then i would change the position of the photos so that they were other images of mountains that i have in my portfolio. This of course would not work if you upload several at a time, and upload often. It would be too time consuming.

You are very lucky to have your first 6 images showing as 'see more'.
mine were the LASt 6 most of the day yesterday and now it's just random...paintings under photographs and the other way around...no attention to galleries that i carefully organized and arranged.
ah well.

Cannot use the search function. I type words in the box, click the magnifying glass (or hit enter) and get sent to the "sign up now" page.

I'm not getting any bad gateways, or missing buttons. Do you have any links to these buttons so we can see? Unrelated 'more' images? I understand the new feature, how is your work unrelated? Photos/paintings? Are they labeled properly as such in each medium?

Search problem seems to have been corrected.

I have the same 6 images as ' see more,' regardless of what category they are..the only gallery that works is my judaic gallery and i dont send people there looking..i have this gallery as its own website.
How could I possibly have links to these buttons if they are missing?

Jeff...thank you for asking...yes...it has improved..but I did respond to Sean's and Abbie's email...and received no reply...
During Abbie's absence he other day..Rosemary asked me to send some screen shots with blank images...and I did..no one has responded to that neither...

Somehow things are better now...I can see the avatars/images and can get to my groups that I administer...so this s good..at last some improvement... very temperamental though... but still one of my questions I forwarded to Abbie - remains unanswered...

Believe me...I know that you are busy..I know you are making changes..but when people get blank screens in their gallery and question this...the answers should come forward fast..don't you think? this is why I suggested that members should be informed of changes and possible interruptions via email..that would make things much easier on us and you..less frustration and pulling hair out...

That's why I open this special thread the other day, because of the new changes Sean was implementing. Seems bugs always arise during those times. Good idea, and hopefully at some point they may consider sending out an 'Maintenance' email. We'll see. Keep reporting if you have blank images.

I chose one random image, Between the Sails, and see six different 'random' images below. What am I missing? Out of curiosity, have you tried pressing the F5 key when you are looking at your pages? This will refresh the screen to display the most current.

you lucked out! every single image I have gone to, now has my first 6 images, except one gallery and this oddball image you grabbed.

regarding the messages, i get them about 6 times a year....never sign up...again, you are very lucky never to have never had this problem....good thing i'm not alone...i've seen this problem crop up for others now and again. i have disabled directly in the e mail...last time it happened, it didn't work...so i guess we shall see....

yes, Jeff..those are my standards..and I am happy with them as they are my carefully chosen first 6....but if someone is looking at an urban photograph,, why would they want or need to see my paintings? that is a distraction in my book...better to have 6 images from the specific gallery that I've already carefully placed them in..keeping like images together.
Think amazon...."people who viewed this item also looked at....."and there are a bunch of SIMILAR items shown.

By the way, the two images you grabbed are identical...the streets of delray beach is a photograph...no need for paintings below to distract...there's my example!

What I would do, Marlene, since you have paintings and photographs is, put the suggestion on Andee's weekly thread for Sean to see. Maybe he can tweak the coding to differentiate between mediums.

it's been a forever problem....when i post in a thread and change the tags, invariably it says "photography prints" on a painting or vice versa.
Forgive my ignorance, but I assumed since you are a moderator and are dealing with the temporary issues of the new gadget, that you'd be working with sean to report, resolve, etc....
as in the past, when sean rolls out something new, a thread pops up like this one with specific issues that we assume is read by admin.

Jeff, those aren't random images that you brought up. I put them there by changing their positions and then putting them in positions 0 to five so they would complement my latest photo. If you click on page 2, for example, and click on any random image of mine, those same six images will still appear. I don't know if I'm making any sense. But when I click on every one else's images, those six images in "see more" keep on changing, whereas mine don't.

We're misunderstanding one another. What I am suggesting is with the new search feature. Since you have both paintings and photos, perhaps you might suggest to see if there is a way to differentiate, so that unwanted (paintings or photos) do not show on the 'More' feature for the opposite medium. I thought that is what you asking...e.g., you did not want paintings to show on the 'More' feature under your photos? Am I incorrect?

I opened this special thread, because invariably issues arise when big changes are happening. I did not want 20 different threads with people reporting anomalies that could be caused by the new feature.

Yes. I now see what you're referencing. Right now, I would suggest letting the dust settle as Sean may, or may not have some additional coding to do. I honestly do not know. Give it a few more days, and if the issue persists please drop a note in Andee's Weekly Suggestions thread for Sean to see. I'm leaving on holiday travel in the morning.

Carol, my images are not changing either. They are stuck on the first 6 newest uploads.

I will be on holiday and unable to assist for a bit. As the recent changes settle things should be getting back to normal, though. Please submit Tech Support ticket as needed, post here, or in Abbie's ongoing Bugs Thread. Trying to give you as many possible outlets to get issues resolved in a timely manner.

There is no word regarding when/if Sean will make any formal announcements as to how the newly implemented 'More' feature is set up, or where it is pulling images from. We'll just have to be patient for now.

This upload just now has not shown up in Artistwebsites, it does show in fineartamerica.com.

the site is running really slow for me today. thumbs aren't loading that fast, and some pages are really pausing.

Ditto on all that, Mike. Same thing happening for me also.

The thumbnails of new sales are not appearing in either the sales list in behind the scenes the email telling the owner of the sale, or on the announcement page.

Ok, here's a couple I've noticed: I cannot get the FAA watermark OFF of my work...despite going to edit and unchecking the box as well as my default being NOT to have it show up. And often when I upload something and UNCHECK the boxes to have it show up on FB or Twitter....they still show up.

This is besides the main problem I reported in the regular bug site about the grey panels blocking out needed links (ie pages of contest entries beyond the first 2 or 3) on the contest pages of any of the contests....so you cannot vote on anything that is not shown in the first few pages or the leaderboard.

Rory, you have to re-upload your images to remove the watermarks but if you send in a tech ticket support can fix them all at once for you.

When I go to the FAA home page, there's a blank spot where the boxes of featured images are shown. If it's not spoken for, I'll gladly take it. (just joking of course)
