Touching Story, Found The Owner And Dog I Drew In Mystic Conn.

Took this picture in Mystic Conn, sitting across the street. This dog sat poised waiting for his owner to come out. When he did walk outside...the dog would sit infront of fthe door. He had no leash, stayed there by choice!! Very loyal to his owner... very adorable, touched my heart! This picture was taken 2011, I drew it 2013. I just flew up and found the owner in Mystic, Conn. It was so exciting to see the flower shop was still there, the same chair is in the window and the door is still teal. When I walked in, I wasn't sure if the dog was still there and I didn't know whose dog it was......So I entered the shop and there stood a man. I reached into my bag and pulled out my print.....The man said "My baby!". The happiness on his face was overwhelming joy! He said "Her name was Tala, she passed away a year and a half ago". Just experiencing his emotional feelings, was worth the time to find out what happened to this beautiful poised dog named Tala! This is what art is all about, preserving beautiful memories of special moments!

Geeze, Robin ... I'm tearing up like you wouldn't believe ... what a beautiful, beautiful story. Bless your heart. I lost two of my canine family members over the past year and it has about killed me. I can imagine what your visit and your image must have meant to the man there. And by the way, this is an exquisitely beautiful work of art. You are not only a talented artist, but the very essence of what goodness and humanity truly mean. How wonderful that people like yourself still walk our beautiful earth. Again ... bless you.

Love your story and glad you found the owner. I have a similar one for a photo I took, but so far with no luck finding the dog's owner.
Whenever I look at Rose, it brings back wonderful memories of a trip from San Francisco to Cleveland, Ohio including the lovely morning we had breakfast in a sweet little café in Evanston, Wyoming, where I saw her and her owner.
I thought he would like the picture of her and wanted to send it to him but didn't do it soon enough. When I recently looked up the café, I found that it had been sold and the café owners are gone. They would have been my only link to Rose's owner, who by the way had a remarkably unique look, a handsome older gentleman with white hair in a long braid down to his waist.

I found someone here on FAA from Evanston and contacted him and he's been so kind as to try to find him for me, but so far no luck.
A lesson here - I really have to learn this permanently! - is to do the nice things you mean to do when you first think of it. Opportunities don't hang around forever!
This is Rose - I just love her, she was just so sweet!

Thank you for all the uplifting response!! Andrea Lazar, maybe the person that purchased the cafe, would have the information from the purchase of the business?. You could give them your number and tel them why? Good luck.. so glad you shared your story. I am sure there are many more!!

Art can change lives. It can heel. It can bring a purpose where its missing. Its so much more than people think that it is because its born from the human spirit, the essence of imagination. This really needs to be understood. don't be afraid to invest in art
