I think as long as the images are good quality and something someone would want to hang on their walls then animal art will sell. I think one of the keys is to make sure it doesn't look like a snapshot someone took of their pet.
there are as many animal shots as flowers, and cats dominate. i can't tell you how well they sell (they don't see well for me). but animals don't blend well into a house unless they really love that animal. you would have a ton of competition and the images your against are done with proper lighting and such. you can try it though. but if your out chasing what could sell, you'll never find what might sell. just shoot, edit and post.
I don't know if someone wants to hang a picture of someone else's cat on their wall any more than hanging a picture of a person they don't know. It will have to be something really special for the viewer to make a connection with a stranger's cat.
if its a black cat with yellow eyes - you can get away with it, because it's a typical halloween witch cat. on the stairs, window, etc, it would sell pretty fast. still depends on presentation, nothing should be cropped off, it should look natural.
There are many people who love cats.
Does the photo look too bad? I thought the quality got good this time. And also I don't think that it looks to boring?

Specific breeds are often marketed... Most pet owners have a favourite breed. All bull mastiffs look the same..all blue Persian cats look the same.. so there is a big market for your pet! btw.. Cat's are officially THE biggest thing on the internet!
