Lawrence, that is great stuff. I have done something along those lines for years. When I would show my current sketchbook to some kids they would want to draw in it. The adults would act like it was the holy grail, but I would say go ahead, it will probably be better than my drawings. Smile. While at dinner not long ago, and before we went into the restaurant, I did a line drawing. I was prewarned my 5 year old dinner companion was a fierce crayoner. She was shy until I turned my book over to her to "color" my drawing. After she wanted to come home and live with me. Sweet.

Since no one is talking here I will relate another.

4 years ago when asked to do a painting in public I suggested we let the children in on the game. It was a day long entertainment called Whoop De Doo in Kansas City. I set up a nice sized canvas and drew some lines for an abstract, then added a little color to stimulate the kids. I set up with easel, paints, and brushes. Many kids came right up and added blocks of color or even slashes, others I had to cajoled to put color on the canvas. It was a fun day and a nice painting. Fast forward 3 years and I suggested to a mom in charge of fund raising at her school the same scenario, her talented daughter did a drawing, many kids worked on the painting, then they sent it to me to "clean it up a bit." It auctioned for over $300.

"The adults would act like it was the holy grail,"
lol....
Great stories, Kevin! You're a good teacher to have!

Coincidentally...a cousin of mine posted this experiment last night on FB. (couldn't link to the one she posted...but this is the same type)

It's another cool thing to do with children...though unlike the other, it's not something you can frame. ;)

You will need... Plate or bowl / Milk / Food Coloring / Liquid soap
(put some drops of color in the milk then add a little liquid soap)

yes...I saw the vids using the Q-tip...but when you just drop the soap in...the colors have more movement...more fun :)

If I had any kids or grand-kids around here I would send the little devils to the orphanage without supper.

Actually, the reason I can joke is because everyone who knows me, knows I am a push-over for kids, & especially grand kids. My 7 year old twins have me wrapped around their fingers, especially the little girl. The twins both paint, and they each gave me a painting for my birthday 2 years ago. I proudly display the paintings on my wall.

This is Ali..... My little dancer, from about 2 years ago.

Hahah... so cute! I should post the drawing my son did of me many years ago. SO unflattering, but funny. Well, maybe not. My hair is sticking out like I put my finger in a socket, but that's the way he saw me.
