Stop, Hey, What's That Sound?

Wow -- it's thunder! Right now, it's pouring rain (storming!) in my little corner of San Antonio, and is a nippy 90 degrees F.

Rain!

Cold front!!!

How much excitement can one woman stand??? :-)

For the next two hours, let's see your rain pics!

@Christine -- Lovely, but oh, so high in the sky. Walking that bridge might encourage me to forget about the rain and focus on . . . other things! ;-)

@Ed -- Rain on the beach . . . at the risk of sounding like an eHarmony profile, I'll admit that's one of my favorite things!

@Frank -- A romantic stroll in the rain. See my @Ed comment, above. ;-)

Love this work Wendy, great colors and full of energy!

After the rain, the sun is shining again... Often the perfect moment to take some photos... ;-)

Thanks, Matthias!

You captured a gorgeous reflection in this photograph. Love the mix of textures. :)

I remember being in San Antonio in a different lifetime to conduct focus groups. It was pouring rain and so hot and humid it was hard to breathe. Even after the rain stopped it was still miserable. I don't know how anyone gets acclimated to that kind of weather.

In February, I finally got my long telephoto lens back from the repair shop. I was so excited to go out shooting wildlife again after not having my lens for a couple of months. Of course it rained that day. But hey, was I going to let a little rain stop me? Heck no! And I actually ended up getting some of my best eagle shots that day in the rain!

I live an hour east of Austin, Wendy---and I'll send you those rain pics IF it EVER decides to rain here again. (Since we are now in Year Seven of our drought, I'm beginning to have my doubts.)

These are great. Mary, what a beauty! I love the excitement of your piece, Wendy. Okay, well, since I live the Pacific Northwest you'd think I'd have rain images. I have "after the rain" images, though.

@Bonfire -- If only one of these fowl were sheltering the other with an umbrella! I'm gonna pretend that's what happened here! :-)

@Christine -- No kidding . . . and that's not a good thing!

@Kathleen -- You don't acclimate. You just learn to survive. It's like living inside a vaporizer. "Well, at least it's a wet heat!" When the heat rolls back in, this afternoon will feel just like that.

@Loree -- I'm green with envy! I've never seen an eagle outside captivity. Nice shot, Loree!

@Joseph -- "Train in the Rain". I would have to add that to the title; no way could I resist! :-)

@Delilah -- I feel your pain! The rain has already stopped; it certainly wasn't enough to relieve our Stage 2 water restrictions. As soon as I win the Lotto, I'm outta here! ;-)
You'll have to create your own rain pics, Delilah, like I usually do!

@Mary -- That's beautiful and mysterious! Rain really does make everything prettier; just wish I saw more of it!

@Patricial -- How I envy your location! Your lovely pics show raindrops . . . for those of us in Droughtland, that's good enough! :-)

Well, that's two hours, people! Thank you for indulging my rain obsession. Maybe we'll get a chance to do it again . . . eventually! :-)
