Abc Disney Contract

Does anyone know if it's possible to see a copy of the license that would be signed if ABC Disney were to purchase your image? I would love to participate in this program but am under an exclusive contract with a stock agency and I cannot sell any images as a royalty-free license model other than with them. Thanks!

Thanks Tom! I did see all of that but would really like to view an actual copy of the contract to make sure I could actually participate.

My understanding is the contracts are mailed out once an image is purchased.

Jeffrey - seems that is sort of like "we gotta pass this bill to find out what's in it" - you mean the artist doesn't know what's in the contract before the buyers gets their hands on the artwork?

My understanding is ABC mails the contracts via Fedex (or other courier) when the sale is made. If you agree to the contract, you sign and send back. I doubt FAA will send your artwork until the paperwork is done - management does not strike me as being anything other than honest.

I don't want to waste anyone's time if I cannot agree to the terms of the contract. That's why I would like to see a copy before choosing to participate in the program.

I am glad you brought this up. When I joined here 2 years ago i passed on this as I was uncertain of the terms. I am also exclusive for royalty free licensing. This appears to be an RM license from the little bit of information that they give. It seems the license is only for the purpose of having the art in that specific use. I have changed my mind and opted in on this. It is not a sale or a contract so just opting in does not violate my exclusive agreement. The chance that this would be an RF rights grab is rather remote. If it is I just would back out or contact my stock agency for advice.

I have sold to Disney a couple of times. I can see i I can find a copy for you in my files?

Thank you, Michelle! What I need to know is if it spells out that you are giving them royalty-free rights to the image.

I'll look for it when I go into work later...

It isn't royalty free in that they can use that image where ever they want. It is a contact that allows them to use the purchased artwork on the set of their show.

See your email for a link to my previous contract...
