My one and only comment about PayPal - don't link it to your regular checking or savings account - the one you use to pay bills and buy stuff with. Open a separate PP checking/savings account - Keep a little bit of money - enough to keep it open (credit unions are great because they only require $5) - download your money from PP to that and then move it to your regular account - do not connect even that account to your regular account - PP has the ability - if you can download money from it - they can take it back the same way. I use my PP account to make purchases from eBay on occasion - all I have to do is make certain that there is money in the account before PP draws on it. I don't use that checking account for anything else - just PP. You should check with your bank.

I had a row with PP several years ago - and my bank told me they could take money from my account without my approval - I had to close my checking and savings account (as they were linked to cover an overdraft). I kept PP frustrated for over 7 years - I finally let them have the money they wrongly did a chargeback on from an item I never got returned - but it only cost me $5 originally - so it was no real loss - and I got to use that money and they were just 'out of it' - for a while - it wasn't that much, less than $100 - it was the principle of the thing that they had allowed a chargeback when the item wasn't returned.
