Hiya Guys,
After quite a few years dealing with health problems, I'm finally getting back into the swing of things by having a One Man Showing of my art. The show is on Sept. 5th, Sept. 6th and Sept. 7th and any of youse guys who live close enough better show up at my show on any one of those days. Here is an interview of me at a local TV station here in East Brunswick. Just click on the video in the center of your screen and wait a few minutes. I am the very first feature on the tape. https://www.ebpl.org/ebtv/VOD.cfm
My show will consist of 41 pieces of my art which makes it the largest show I have had in quite a few years. I hope you people who live close by can make it.

Thank you, thank you Marlene. Now I know it will be a successful show. One thing though Marlene, Ah hain't lookin forward to settin her up. I had to figure out how to exhibit 41 paintings and prints without putting one nail into their walls. That took me a long time a thinkin.

Today East Brunswick, tomorrow the world. You looked great on TV and so dashing. You're sure to be a success at your show. Just how are you going to exhibit so many paintings? I know we would all like to see pictures of the set up. Good luck Harold....you certainly deserve it.

Tell me, Hal ... How will you do that?
My last show had a ledge strip. I used a hook and clear wire forming a triangle from the book across the backs. Easiest set up ever.

That's fantastic Hal!! Congratulations. The interview was great. You looked and sounded so relaxed. Good luck at your show.

Thank you Lisa, Debra, Marlene, Darice, Isabella, and Roz.
The way I'm doing it is this. First, I am using my racks that will handle 25 to 30 paintings. I am going to zigzag the racks in the center of the room with paintings on either side of the racks. Then I have two 8 foot banquet tables which I am going to stand 6 paintings on each one. This is what I was having a problem with. I am constructing two 8'x2' boards which will have 3 wedges or braces behind them. These will be covered with black tablecloths, the same as the tables. Now all I have to do is lean my paintings on these boards which will never be seen by the customers. It will appear as if my paintings are standing on the tables all by themselves. Also, there is only one light receptacle in the whole room which means all my lights will run from that one receptacle. I will take photographs of the whole show and post them here for you to see.
I am no longer able to set up a show in one day so I am starting the setups on Wednesday, thursday and finishing on Friday. I am relly hoping that this show will be successful because I am donating 25% of my sales to the church. Our church isn't doing so well these days and needs all the help it can get.

Hal, I wish I could be there to wander through your works. As it happens I will not be that far away but to far to attend. Going to be in Delaware at the beach that weekend. I wish for you a very successful show.

Oy! I would cave without walls! Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you, Hal! I wanna hear great news on that last day...it'll be my birthday present ;)

Hiya Kevin,
I wish you could make it too. Anyway, enjoy Delaware. That's where Janice wants to move eventually.
Happy Birthday Marlene. Have a great time. I will be thinking of you at my show. I just finished my first backup board for my paintings. It works and even has an angle to it to make it easier to view my paintings. As I mentioned above, I will take photographs of my show before people have a chance to clutter it up. :)

Congratulations, Hal, and all best wishes. I would love to be able to attend, but Florida is a mite far away and other commitments demand my presence here. I feel certain your efforts will be greatly rewarded! Looking forward to pics of the event. ~Clif

Shucks. What I wouldn't do to actually stand in the presence of your artwork, Hal.
It's one thing to see your creations come to life on my monitor, or to revisit the prints as they beckon to me from the walls of my studio, but to get up close to those gorgeous ORIGINALS of yours would be more than just splendiferous, Hal...that would be a truly unforgettable experience for me. And please, don't try to humble yourself by disagreeing, because I really mean it.
I hope this exhibit of yours is everything you could wish for in a one-man show, and it should be, since you're the one who's curating it.
You've done the work, now it's basking time, my friend. Let them bestow the accolades upon this most worthy of artists!

Thank you Cliff. The main reason I hope I have a very successful show is so I can deposit a large check in my Pastor's hand. That would be my biggest reward.
Marlene, I will document it for you completely.
Thank you Lawrence old buddy. All the hard work has been done, now all I have to do is set it up. I have been spreading my posters around, being interviewed on television and gotten all my artwork framed and ready for the show.
Hiya Patrick old friend. You are way too kind. I wish you could make it along with a bunch of other FAA members. Patrick I don't feel that the general public realizes how much work goes into putting a show like this together...and I'm not even talking about all the time and energy that it took to create all the artwork for the show. Thank God I have great children who have volunteered to help me. I will let you and everybody else here at FAA know how it went.

Hal....... I would say that I'm impressed, but I picked you a long time ago as a great artist, and it does not surprise me that you are doing so well. However, it really was an impressive program on TV and hearing the interview....and as always, I am proud to call you my friend.
I wish you good health, and continued success in the work you love.
Blessings,
Gene

Hal, try to pace yourself..this is a huge undertaking....I, for one, realize how much work it is when you can use walls..I cannot even fathom the extra added issues involved and the shlepping and problem solving that creates....ou need to be rested and smiling to great your audience ;)

Hal, just watched the video. I enjoyed listening to your narrative about your paintings. I wish it were longer.
An accomplished artist, your work is impressive. I'm in awe.
Much success on your upcoming show.

Thank you Gene. Glad to see and hear from you again.
Marlene, you better believe it. I have to sit down, stretch my back and take it easy every hour. Today I came in from my deck outside where I am building my backdrops and lo and behold, the Yankee game was just beginning. So My 10 minute break lasted for two hours - just l;ong enough for my Yankees to loose to The Toronto Blue Jays. :(
Thank you Janice, Alfred, Keshava, Sydne, and Suzanne.
Hiya Stella, how the heck have you been? Are you still with the ArtCafe? I really miss you guys. The ArtCafe is where joining a group and selling my images on line got started with me.
