What Do You Think Of My 1st Painting?

I've been experimenting outside of my comfort zone lately and this week decided to try painting. I've never done it before and would like to know what you think of the results. I'm open to any and all feedback. Thanks for taking a look...

I really like it. If that's your first time, you're a natural.

Thanks for the positive words, everyone. It turned out better than I could have expected but you just never know what other people's eyes see. It was fun and now I'm curious to see how I can handle a less random image. Something more substantial and defined.

Thank you, John. The skepticism is flattering. Aside from some childhood paint by numbers and spreading some Behr products around the house, yes it's my 1st time painting.

I know that feeling of the glory of the morning. When I was a child I often watched the sunrise in the morning, just standing there for hours and soaking it in... and it looked just like your painting...

Thank you, Erin. That's nice to hear. I too have experienced glory in the morning.

On a side note, I'm wondering if I should change the name...

Thanks, Teresa but if that's true, then apparently the Xfactor does not equate to Xtra sales.

Joe I think you're the kind of artist you could excel in anything you do.........if this is you trying new things you haven't imagine the possibilities!......Please continue to go outside your comfort zone and share your awesomeness in any way you can.

For a first painting it's very good. The large tree trunk kind of leads the eye off the painting, maybe add a branch or two going in.

Kathleen Sartoris

Wow, amazing.

Thank you for the inspiration and motivation to keep this delusion alive, Sheena. I need it! And might I say that all of your work carries significant awesomeness as well.

Thanks for the advice, Susan but I think it's done. I found myself fearful of adding too many branches and decided to back off. Plus I don't want to rescan it :)
