Aw Site - Place For The Imprint ? Germany!

Hi folks,

im a bit in trouble ... namely, by german law every online site (which belongs to a german) needs to have an imprint section, only 2 clicks away from the index.html / landing page.

Is it possible to adjust the AW site with an additional menu link to it, or even change a menu name, for example instead of "blog" to see the "imprint"? Where should i put those infos?

Thanks for help :)

Kim,

i am premium, thats why i wrote AW site :)

a shopping cart widget wont help here, as in the worst case i will be forced to shut down the site and to pay a fee to authorities. I must have those infos on the site regarding law.

Obviously I don't know the particulars of the laws in Germany, but the site is not really "your" site - if they do a "whois" on the artist website, they should see that it's a website domain that is owned by an American, not you. Ultimately if a buyer buys your work, they are buying it from FineArtAmerica/Pixels who is paying you your requested commission. You aren't dealing with the customer on any real level.

What are your worries?
Artist websites is not a German site. Your work is shown there and for sale by a non- german company. You have no resposibilities except paying income tax for you possible earnings. What do you mean, will someone shut down AW because of your homepage there?

The law has no bearing on your AW site nor your FAA site

These sites are hosted and owned by an American company on American servers. If you were hosting them on German servers and you owned the domain then it is a different matter

Stop worrying.

thanks Mark,

thats also the case with 99% of all other sites / webspaces, they belong to isp`s and storage farms and therelike, its my duty to inform the visitor/buyer with whom they deal.

german imprint asks for operators, which i am, for data protection, for liability and much more ...

for example on my homepage, i have to write down even the works of google analytics, twitter, facebook and all that stuff thats happening in the background ...

a rly harsh example, id upload childporn, who will be responsible for it, me or FAA, slightly exaggerated, but you got my point.

Also its somehow shady when those infos are missing, i dont care too much about it, but it will drive buyers off, as i read today in one of my emails.
