Need Some Advice...from Painters

I mostly do photography as one could see if they viewed my gallery. I haven't done a painting since college but a co worker asked if I could make something for her so I agreed. Now my question is if I were to put it on here....how do I do that? Only way I could think is take a picture with my camera and edit/crop to fit the size of painting. BUT does it come out clear if someone was to buy a "print" or whatever. How should I try to do this?

Katie - with your photography skills you will be more capable to get a great image to post up here.
A little editing - & boom ! you're there.

Enjoy painting !

As long as you follow FAA's guidelines for photographing your work, you should be fine. In the event that you sell a print of your art and FAA emails you that it's "too blurry at the fulll resolution", scale down the image you've uploaded to fit an appropriate size... provided the print ordered isn't the full res you've capture. Then you'll have to re shoot... or FAA will cancel the order.

Use a tripod! The first one I ordered of a painting I put on here would not print. Tripod solves that problem.

I don't use a tripod for taking photos of my paintings, but now I have some worries re ability for FAA to print!

I have found I need to take a photo in 100% natural light(no flash), so I always put my painting out flat on the outdoor patio, of course no sunlight hitting it, taken at fast enough shutter speed so that camera shake isn't a problem. For me, I've found f8 or around there works best. Then it requires editing in something like Lightroom to get the colors just right, or as close as possible as right to the actual painting.
