Thanks so much for reading Donna Marsh's featured interview! So many online artist interviews are really generic... pre-determined, formulaic questions that don't really tell the artist's story, let alone discuss his or her work process in a meaningful manner. So our approach to featured artist interviews strives to set a new bar. We aim to produce content that is oriented towards serious collectors who are interested in reading about art in a manner that reflects their interests (as opposed to fluff). We also want to produce content that artists can use to market themselves more effectively. Good content presented in a professional manner isn't as easy to come by as one would think, so we're thrilled that you are impressed with the quality of the interview. We're really looking forward to developing our magazine... we're only just getting started! Be sure to sign up for our newsletter as we anticipate hosting separate competitions for photographers... best! Claire

That's it. When you are an artist in 2014, creation seems the easiest part. However, being known is another business. With internet, it is not so easy, marketing-wise. You have to pay for your name to appear in the main art sites. They will not choose you for what you are worth, artistically speaking, but for what you pay. I can even display my cat "artwork" if I pay the price. With a couple of hundreds of dollars, my cat can become one of such "artist" in these very expensive yellow-pages. As a collector, I choose to look at competition site because I'm more interested by the art, and less by the capacity of the artist to pay marketing campaign. By looking at these sites, you can find and discover artists that do not appear in main artist list. I also imagine that, for an artist, the minimum fees to enter the competition are way more accessible than the fees for regular marketing. That being said, not all competition web site worth the visit for various reason: bad design, bad browsing, not a lot to say about the artists in competition or even the winners... I've just reviewed Exhibeo and I have to say: I’m very impressed. Apart that Exhibeo site is beautiful, I am impressed by the quality of the prize: the artist interview is stunning. The questions of the interviewer are excellent, not generic, and really motivate you to know more about the artist (I've just discovered Donna Marsh, a painter since the '90). This is the kind of interview you can find in renowned international publication.Anyway, great job guys, collectors and artists will thank you one day. Sorry for the bad english, it is not my mother language.

Thanks for your kind and insightful remarks Georges... what you say resonates with us. We've looked at all kinds of art competitions available online. Some are really great, offering attractive incentives. Other... not so great. Our philosophy is that winning a competition should reward artists with something tangible that they can use, so we offer cash prizes, press coverage and aggressively promote our winning artists. I glad you like the site. We're just getting started, be sure to pass the word around! If you enjoyed the sample of Donna Marsh's awesome work in her interview with Exhibeo Art Magazine, be sure to check out her personal website: http://dmarsh.artspan.com

I highly recommend Exhibeo Art Magazine's painting competitions, and I have just been awarded first place in the "Open Theme Painting Competition". I am thrilled and honored to be awarded first place with my painting titled "Vancouver Rain", which included $300 cash plus oodles of marketing! The staff and judges have been a joy to work with and the entire web-site operates in a highly professional manner. You can view my winning entry here on my web-site here at Fine Art America,
