What Do You Think?

" It does not matter how badly you paint, so long as you don't paint badly like other people". -George Moore, so what do you think? agree, disagree?

Well, that one hurts my brain, Ronald. I guess if your painting is unique, someone might appreciate it. Even if it's bad. But then, there's "bad" and there's "bad"....you know what I mean?

Thats what makes the quote interesting. George Moore was an novelist and art critic who died in the 1920's or 30's, can't remember which. He posed for Manet, there are at least three portraits of him.

George Augustus Moore was an Irish novelist, short-story writer, poet, art critic, memoirist and dramatist. Moore came from a Roman Catholic landed family who lived at Moore Hall in Carra, County Mayo.
Born: February 24, 1852, County Mayo, Republic of Ireland
Died: January 21, 1933, Pimlico, United Kingdom

I know many will argue, but I do believe the good Irish gentleman had a point.

Thanks Kevin for the info! The "Good Irish gentleman" seems to have been somewhat of a character, here is another quote by him..."I would lay aside the wisest book to talk to a stupid woman" I personally feel a mix between the creative side and technical proficiency is needed but also feel he makes a good point.

A first-rate soup is more creative than a second-rate painting ~ Abraham Maslow.

Maslow is considered the father of humanism within his field of psychology . . .

Roy, not sure about arrogant, but a damned fine Irish sense of humor. Or as the Irish say, Brilliant!
