Android - Looking For An Event Timer

i need to change the oil in my compressor every quarter or so (they say 100 hours, i will guess that's about right). i need a reminder though and i'm having a hard time finding a reminder that it's social based, or advanced meetings based. i just want a simple reminder. i could use reminder fox in my browser, but it never works that well, i use the phone each day so it's probably better there.

any good ones? free that is. thanks

I just use Microsoft Outlook Calendar web-based, and you can have it send email reminders to your phone. Google and yahoo also have the same service attached to their email. It has always worked great for me.

The standard calendar app that came with my Android (Samsung S4) will work for that. Just create an "event" on the date(s) you want and make it recurring every three months. You can have the phone send you an email reminder and an audible BEEP reminder.

do you remember what the built in one was called? i may have moved it to a spot that i simply forgot about, since i had no need for it until now.

You can set them in your clock app...

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appsrox.remindme i just found this one, seems to do what i want, but it's kind of a terrible interface. there were a considerable amount of allah praying app

can't seem to find the clock app. most of what came with the phone, including the phone part was tossed in some bin on the device. later i found out i can still call 911 on it, so i moved the phone part to a spot i can see it.

Your apps should be in the bottom tool bar the in alphabetical order....

Mike,

Not sure if you have this in new Jersey yet, but what I would use is called paper and a pencil, piece of tape and you're done. Don't know how to download this, but might even be in your drawer with all that stuff, in the kitchen, we all have them.

Here's the hard part, you will need to estimate how much you use this compressor, everyday or week and then multiply this out to when it get's close to 100 hurs. Then get a calendar and see when that is. NOW, this is tricky, you need to write down that date, in the "FUTURE" on a piece of paper and then with this tape, Scotch Tape, maybe, attach it to the compressor.

This may seem like a lot of work, but every once in a while, look at the date on the piece of paper and when you get close, and for stuff like this, 100 hours,120 hours won't make much of a difference.

Let me know if I can help with any other really complicated stuff,

Rich

If you have a more current version of an Android phone, you have a calendar on it. You can use that to create an appointment and have it repeat as needed. For example, I have a filter on my coffee pot that needs to be changed about every 3 months. So, I created an event titled "Change Coffee Pot Filter" and then set the repeat on it to 90 days. Works like, well, clockwork. I have it set for around 7:00 AM so I'll be sure to see it when I am up and about. It's easy and yes, even free with your phone.
