Maybe a little on the sides, but it is very nice as is...maybe post cropped so we can compare ;)

Thankyou Sooner photo for nice advise, l will try that!!

So...just were are those "Tiny little tea leaves...?"

More seriously, as Sooner Photo suggests, it might be helpful to see it in a cropped version. However, with that said, I am a "fan" of a 3/2 aspect ratio (the majority of my photographs are cropped to that ratio - and your li'l guy is nearly there. So. I will likely like it "as is" - even after seeing a more tightly cropped version.

Yes, the second is better. There is too much empty space on the sides in the first version.

Adorable image ... yes, I prefer the second cropped version as well.

Nice little painting/drawing Teresa. I think you've cropped it perfectly! I advise you to look into copyright regarding this image.. Tetley take these things very seriously. My granny used to make tea cosys with a similar image. She was told she could not sell them due to a copyright violation..

Right is best :)

Right is better, and besides: value wise, the one on the left is wasting space. Those blank spaces cost a buyer just as much as space with art printed on it.

(You would never know I'm from Scottish descent.)

Everyone sees things differently. IMHO he feels a bit crowded in the square - you could make it a vertical (portrait) image with the empty space over his head, to emphasize his shortness. I think it would be funnier.

Hi Jim please check the 3rd pic above, what you suggested,
what do you think ?? Thankyou Teresa

Well just my own ideas, but... I think I'd give him more space at the sides and quite a bit more at the top - say 2 or 3 times as much space at top as at bottom. In general I think the eye likes more space above the subject than below. And it this case it would emphasize the subject's short stature and so add something to the composition.

One mistake I've made in the past is not allowing for some loss at the margins when matted and framed.

Who is this guy anyway?

Here's one of mine, with space at the top making him look small and, well, cute. I think it works, but that's just me. Maybe it doesn't work, with your subject.
